Description

It is no secret that since 1995, the Swedish Air Force have used the Fallkniven Model F1 as its official survival knife but, what many don't know is what the Air Force sheath looks like, and where the sheath is located.


The knife is stored in a specially made polymer sheath in a small leg pocket on the right thigh - just where you have the best access to the knife in a cramped cockpit. There the sheath is held in place by a push button and, as you pull down the flight suit's pocket's zip, you can grab the knife handle and pull the knife out of the Fallkniven F1 Swedish Airforce Sheath.


This sheath is not designed for belt carry. Instead it works very well with the knife in a leg pocket, not so common in the Nordic countries, but very common in central European countries. This sheath has no additional retention - the knife can be pulled out of the sheath without pressing any buttons - the knife sits deep and secure through friction in the tight polymer sheath.

    Airforce sheath

    This sheath, obviously, fits the knife really well. Secure enough to not worry , but You can get it out without getting a rupture! The button hole on top will take large and small British Army slotted buttons, as well as the buttons on the Helikon tex Pilgrim jacket and trousers. With some experimentation I have found that Prym 17mm ( part number 341 254 ) fits the female press stud fitted into the sheath. The sheath and knife fit into the inner slip pocket, sewn into the zip pockets of the Pilgrim trousers. An excellent, long waited for, sheath. Hopefully My extra information will come in helpful, as well as encouraging more people to buy this sheath.
