Extrema Ratio MK2.1 Black 18

It was a long process to arrive at the Mk2.1 black. Hours of research and reading reviews. The driving factor was nostalgia and quality. I had a genuine Ka Ba as a kid !! (unthinkable now eh?) and in the 80s I always hankered after a quality knife .... a Chris Reeves or similar, but I couldn't afford one. Now I can, and I'm truly delighted with my purchase. Looks like a Ka Ba, and has a quality modern Ka Bas' can't match in my opinion. I'm no expert, so I can't comment on the intricacies of material or balance etc, but I can say it fits my hands beautifully (size 10/11 glove) and is a thing of engineering beauty to behold. It has a nice sheath with several carry options and fits Molle kit. I can't see me buying this quality in future, but I have satisfied my craving for the present. I will, however being scanning the knife section of HH regularly. There were quite a few items out of stock that took my eye. Highly recommended knife and supplier.

I like aggressive handles, but I thought this one might be too aggressive even for me. It's not, it's just very functional. So, this is based on the 1942-43 Mark 2 pattern. That could be a Camillus, stamped USN, or a Ka-Bar, stamped USMC. The E.R. MK 2.1 is the most solid version, I promise you. Blade - 7" long. Handle - 5" long (including guard). Stock - 6.29mm. Balance point - on the first finger, behind the guard. This is designed to be disassembled without a tool, mine arrived very tight from the factory, so I haven't tried it yet. Check out - darrex00 on YouTube, to see it come apart. The scabbard is first class. It has a hard insert, and a removable retaining strap. I have inverted the travel flap on mine, buckle underneath, for a better fit. I am very pleased with my purchase.
