      Estwing Black Eagle Tomahawk

Posted by James T on 7th Mar 2021

I bought this a little while ago as an impulse buy. It has been surprisingly useful for breaking things down - small wooden growing frames and the like. The point on the back edge is rather sharp and is useful for carving channels through plaster if you don't have a cold chisel to hand, although the results are obviously not going to be neat - but that's what filler is for, after all. It balances and handles beautifully and feels as if it's made to last a lifetime, which is nothing short of what we expect from an Estwing. The sheath leaves quite a bit to be desired but covers the head satisfactorily. At some point I'll probably have a leather sheath made up for it.
