The DMT double sided flip sharpener is the most expensive on the market at £46. Mine arrived with a big lump of adhesive excess stuck to the side stopping the handle operating correctly. I did think should I just file it off, but then thought this is not from the £1 shop, why should I have to mess with it . should have never left the factory.. The seller sent postage return label which I had to get my son to print out, and then queue up in the rain outside the post office for 25 mins to buy a padded envelope (45p) wearing a face covering to post to et proof of postage. Today they returned the same item with a note saying it had been repaired.. REPAIRED the thing was brand new. They should have sent a brand new one, unopened and sent the old one back to the manufacturer. shocking service, go to another company that treat you with a bit of respect.
these have been my' go to' pocket sharpener for many years, ive used the key fob versions too. very reliable and i havent managed to break one yet. DO NOT use oil! they come unstuck.
I've had the coarse/fine version for a couple of years now, and I've been able to get and maintain good edges on all sorts of blades. Unfortunately, after a year or so, about half the length of the coarse side of mine was missing almost all the diamonds across 2/3rds of the width. It's clearly more reflective than the rest of the coarse side. Presumably a manufacturing error that took some time to appear. Thankfully most of the work I do with it now is maintaining existing edges, so the coarse side gets little use. Despite this I've recommended DMT sharpeners to several people on the strength of this one and a very old one my Father has had for decades, and would probably buy another.
The fine/extra fine combination is very good! I was very critical in my review of the coarse DMT sharpening stone. But this product is excellent. I guess that the finer versions of DMT products are the best! Now I want a fine and a extra fine DMT sharpening stone ;)

I have owned the fine/coarse version of this for over ten years. It has been used to sharpen all manner of blades big and small, from craft knives to axes. Reliable, extremely portable and not over priced, this is a sharpener that can give your blades a decent edge on the go.
