    Damascus blank

I was a bit dubious when I saw the low price but thought it was worth a punt at only £24. The blade is 3 3/4 ins. Leaving a quite short but wide handle. Along the spine it's 4mm. Thick but on the base of the handle it's only 3mm; not sure if this is deliberate but it does keep handle weight down! The brass bolster had a few dinks which are too deep to remove so I'll need to do further filework to disguise the damage. The steel seems OK for the price & mine has an attractive random pattern. I'm making simple, White Oak scales. I think this will be a showpiece rather than a user but I think it's definitely worth the asking price.
