    Condors Bushlore

Posted by Richard Mavor on 14th Feb 2021

Pre-drilled holes couldn’t be more mis-placed if they tried. The front one is unusable as it sits just under the angled parts of scales. As such, only the middle rivet hole is usable and looks very strange on completion. A shame as it’s a good blade otherwise.

Ideal good value, good quality blank blade for a bushcraft knife project.

    Nice metal

    Posted by 243 on 5th Sep 2019

I liked the idea of owning a Bushlore knife because of its great reputation but when I tried one out I found I didn't like the absence of a finger guard & i don't like the style of sheath it comes with so £60 seemed a lot to pay in ligh of this. I decided to buy this blank & make my own version of this worthy knife. The bank is well finished, sharp & ready to go. I look forward to what will be a worthwhile project for when I retire next week.

    A great blank

I've now made 3 of these with brass bolsters and black walnut scales. I spent a fair bit of time polishing out the grind marks on the blade as well. Lovely balanced solid blade.

    Very good

This will be the second knife I have made. The blade mic'd at 2.6 mm average and is pretty even all along the length. Very sharp out of the pack and needs the card sleeve to protect the unwary buyer. It arrived in a cardboard box so was very well packaged. I gave it a bit of a strop and the edge has polished to a razor very quickly. Obviously as a blank it is an unknown quantity as yet but I think it will make a nice finished piece.

    Perfect for the beginner

Posted by phil on 1st Dec 2016

This is the perfect blade for a beginner knife maker. Shaving sharp out of the box and has a good feel and weight to it. For anyone wondering the 4.8mm pins sold by heinnie fit this handle perfectly.

decent bushcraft blade for those new to knifemaking

Posted by robdguk on 10th Sep 2016

Very impressed for the price (it'll never match my scandi blades from custom knifesmiths like Claus Bernhardt, but it's not meant to) easy to construct with just some brass rod or tubing and a pair of handle scales. easy to sharpen and hold a good edge. Perfect budget project bushcraft knife. Quite a large blank, both blade and handle. only downside.... described as 3mm thick, mine was 2.3 mm. No real issue, just feels a little slim for a reasonably large bushcraft knife. In use , works really well and I'd recommend it.
