Good project tool
So, these things have a reputation as being project tools, which is fine. They only really need sharpening, burrs taken off the hole and some very minor handle work. That said... Mine came very solid on the handle. I stripped the paint off mine, which revealed the heat treat lines... About 1" of the cutting edge and point are hardened. Tool takes an edge, cuts really well and is really light. The good thing about these I think is that you can get extended handles and I suspect the heads are all identical in the hole... So you could carry a couple of heads and a couple of shafts and have incredibly versatile tools. Hawks aren't generally your best axe option... But let's face it, we're not building log cabins every weekend... And Their very cool! As for heinnie... As always, top notch service and delivery.
