No one works harder than a rancher or a farmer. Their work environment can put a variety of demands on a simple folding knife. The Cold Steel Ranch Boss II can meet just about any challenge your work can dish out!

Designed from the ground up for usefulness, durability and effectiveness, it offers a long, sharp, clip point blade that’s flat ground out of high carbon steel. Honed razor sharp it folds up into an equally tough handle. Made with faux sawed bone handle scales, and reinforced with tough stainless steel bolsters, it will outlast nearly any brass frame folding knife.

What’s more, it comes with a stiff back spring (like a slip joint pocket knife) and a stainless steel liner lock, so your fingers will have extra protection. It’s paired with a thick brown leather belt sheath, making the whole package an incredibly affordable bargain.

    COLD STEEL RANCH BOSS 11

Posted by Charlie Bower on 5th Jan 2023

Not very impressed. Took a couple of hours to get it sorted. Blade was blunt and loose, liner lock needed striping and re profiled, back spring needed grinding flat on one side. Reassembled sharpened, cracking knife holds a spectacular edge. Sheath wasn’t bad. Service from HH was outstanding despite Royal Mail.

The mighty Cold Steel Ranch Boss

Posted by Martin Atton on 8th Jul 2022

It is only when one handles this beast that the size of the knife becomes apparent. With a 3.5cm thick flat ground 10cm long clip point blade the knife can do some serious work. The grooved Delrin scales offer a good grip & the handle is long enough for even the biggest hand. The lock acts as a failsafe, because the strong back spring holds the blade firmly in place when the knife is used. S5 carbon steel will make maintaining a razor edge a breeze. The lack of rust resistance is no problem as I look after my knives. Fit & finish are very good for this price point & I see this as a modern iteration of a cutlery classic. Screwed construction and stainless steel bolsters should ensure longevity & the lanyard hole is a useful addition. The absence of a pocket clip is a bonus, as I feel this addition ruins the ergonomics of any knife! A sturdy leather carrying case completes the package. A modern classic.

    Solid workmate

Posted by Jock Campbell on 5th Apr 2022

I have just received the Cold Steel Ranch Boss ll from HH. Excellent service as usual. The knife is big but not too heavy. I think it looks nicer than the Buck 110 and feels well balanced. The scales look good and the lanyard hole in the handle is very useful. The sheath is very attractive but not too prissy, it looks like it will last a long time. The shape of the knife overall is great, it looks like it means business. The clip point blade is nicely shaped and the thickness of the spine in the clip allows working close to the point for detailed whittling. The main blade spine thickness suggests a pretty solid knife and it’s length and shape offer versatility. The main concern, and hence the lost star, is the frame lock. When it works it’s fine. The trouble is that if the knife is opened gently the lock does not click in place. It does if the blade is snapped open. This could be a problem if I assume it’s locked and it isn’t. I guess I will have to check it before doing any piercing work. I also am sure it will wear in eventually. Overall an excellent knife with an attractive look and good feel.

    Ranch boss ll

It was a toss up between this & the buck 110, but me being a tight git decided on this one, & I ain't disappointed, its a lovely bit of kit, & bloody sharp! I have cut myself twice already, not overly keen on the liner lock, but I will get used to it. The leather pouch is cracking quality and secures the knife nicely, all in I sm happy with my purchase.

    Ranch boss ll

I hung of getting this for a week, it was either a buck 110 or this, but being a tight git I decided on this. The ranch boss is a beast of a folder & comes with a cracking leather sheath/ holder, & bloody sharp OTB, I probably wont use it much but just liked the old school look of it.

    110 beater?

Posted by Chris on 31st Jul 2020

Ok so it will never be as iconic as the 110 but it’s bigger, lighter and has a better steel imo. I know it’s made in china as opposed to the USA but as an Englishman I couldn’t care less. The build quality on the one I got was second to none and better than the buck 110 or the 112 pro, both of which were ordered from HH this month. My only gripe is I would have gladly paid a little more for better material on the scales.if you are after a beast of a folder that I honestly can’t think of a legitimate reason for carrying in the U.K. this is for you
