Cold Steel Pendleton Hunter Lite

Over the years, Cold Steel's Pendleton Hunters have become enormously popular, and many people have asked for a more affordable Pendleton that will accommodate just about anyone’s budget.

In appearance, the Cold Steel Pendleton Lite Hunter strongly resembles Lloyd’s classic functional designs, with a practical drop point blade, modest guard, hollowed bolster area, and a flared butt to aid retention in slippery and inclement conditions.

The only major changes were the adoption of subzero cryo quenched German 4116 Stainless steel and the use of high-impact polypropylene for the handle. If you are looking for a dependable and award winning hunting / utility knife that will serve you well for years to come - then you would be hard pressed to beat the Pendleton Lite Hunter

    Pendleton lite hunter

Posted by Lee Harding on 5th Nov 2022

Arrived very quickly with some samura whetsones. I bought 3 of these Pendletons & I don't know if it's the coldsteel brand or not but to me they are just great quality for the money, they really are. This knife fills your hand is comfortable has a thick blade & razor sharp, very good quality again, had the same surprise at the quality as I did when I took the cold steel spike bowie. The sheath is very tight but I like that (it isn't going anywhere). I wish they came with the secure ex sheath....but they don't.no big deal. Excellent knife for the price & well worth it.

I bought this knife 4yrs ago , and actually prefer it to a mora companion heavy duty , Strange , but seams to keep a good edge , It just glides through whatever its cutting . Went up a fair bit in price but so has a lot of hennies Knives it wont let you down .

Following my review of the 11th when i agreed with GR on his review of this blade, this now has home in my kitchen draw...! why ? because of the sheath. sorry cold steel but i will go back to my mora companion tried & trusted.

    Pendleton hunter lite.

Totally Agree with GR, yes the knife itself is good, a worthy alternative to a mora. But the sheath ?? definitely needs improvement to enable the user to draw the blade without having to use both hands.

    Good blade , bad sheath.

Posted by GR on 30th Aug 2018

The knife is a good strong blade and is retained in the sheath tightly. However one cannot release the knife from the sheath with only one hand. You have to grip the sheath with your other hand and if your not careful you could easily slice you hand open as you pull thre knife from its sheath, - dangerous.

    Great Knife Sheath ?

Posted by GR on 30th Aug 2018

Follow up to my previous review. The blade on these knives is very good, I went to sharpen it after working on a carcass including a lot of bone contact, and the blade was as keen as when new. It keeps a good edge. My only concern is having to grip the sheath with your other hand to unsheath the knife.

Had one of these for a few years and never used it. Just took it camping and it is now a favourite. Great size and shape and really useful.

    Alternative to Mora/Hutafors

Posted by RY on 4th Nov 2016

Firstly, this knife was dispatched to me by Hannah, at 5:16PM on Monday and arrived the following day just before 12 noon. Using STANDARD! Delivery. Exceptional service; exceptional company. The knife itself cost a little under twenty two pounds, and is of usual Cold Steel quality. It is well made, with a comfortable grip handle, and was plenty sharp to use immediately. The steel is German Krupp; easy to keep sharp and stainless. The product loses one star for the sheath. I wanted this model over the codura, so I could just clip it easily to any bottoms. The sheath is similar to the Mora; with good retention. However, unlike the Mora; this sheath has no thumb ramp, to tease the knife out easily. To do so requires two hands. Shame really. Such a simple thing that would improve the sheath greatly.
