The Cold Steel Hold Out Lockback is a tough little knife for any number of domestic and workplace tasks. The blade is S35VN stainless steel which is one of the best for edge retention. It has ambidextrous thumb studs and a solid, secure back lock mechanism. The handle is G10 with a skeletonised design, to reduce weight, and a pocket clip attached which can be removed if desired.

This had a difficult journey to me, but it has arrived. And I love it. I've had the fixed blade version, the Secret Edge, for years and it's great. This is better, as the handles offer more to grip whilst retaining both the quintessential flatness and the wonderfully simple daggery profile. And the blade is S35VN! Not a "good enough AUS10" but the truly superb S35VN. Honestly, for the price this is one of the best knives out there. I'm so glad it arrived.

No more coldsteel

HH great service as always never any faults their on to the knife I have the old Aus8 version and thought I would update it to the newer s35vn version as it's a knife design I really like and find it useful anyway since Lynn Thompson sold off coldsteel I am finding the products are still good quality but the edge they used to come with is just not happaning anymore the blade came centered but the edge is exactly the same as I have found on my last two knife purchases from CS since the buyout it's uneven and needs work to get it sharp for a knife over the £100 mark I would expect better so on to reprofiling the edge and a sound feeling I won't be buying anymore CS knives mind you it's not as if the affordable range has decent steel for the price anymore sorry to CS fans I am not as impressed as once was
