The retention strap is in the middle of the belt loop, as you look at the sheath. It would be far better being located higher up.
Bought to fit a vintage Sheffield Bowie I had as a lad. Good fit nicely made sheath. Recommended.
I bought two of these to try for my Cold Steel Tanto`s to replace the supplied CS Secure-Ex sheath`s which were blunting their blades. The Master Tanto fit`s snug in the 20cm one, and the 15cm sheath is ideal for the Kobun. They may be cheap, but they are very well made and do the job very nicely indeed. The only thing that i would`ve liked is if there were a black option. Excellent value for money, and excellent service from HH as always.
Also fits the Ontario Old Hickory 8 inch slicer very nicely, so now used it for that & I have now put the 7 inch butcher into the basket weave 7 inch sheath also from HH which is a better fit & also more substantial.
Top service from HH, arrived in about 18 hours. Got this for the Ontario 7 inch Old Hickory Butcher knife. As it does not have a welt it holds the knife nice & tight & the strap is long enough to go around the handle but is a little loose, but a strip of duck tape fixed that as a temporary measure until I get around to sticking a bit of leather to it. The sheath is also wide enough so the knife is well away from the stitching .
I bought an Ernesto cook's knife with full tang and bamboo handle The idea was to try it as a utility knife based on the format of the gaucho knife or cuchilla.. Of course it was not sold with a sheath and this one did the job nicely. I now have a shaving- sharp camp and food prep tool and sheath for under a tenner combined.
