    Buck Button lock?????

Wow a cheap button lock Buck knife, solid steel construction with a stainless blade, what's not to like, it wouldn't be the BOS heat treatment that man is a wizard

    Unbelievable…

Posted by Chris D on 11th Sep 2024

I received this knife yesterday. Absolutely screaming sharp, straight out of the box. Fit and finish, pretty much excellent. Love the blade shape - spot on with a gentle degree of belly and a superbly pointy tip. Decided to slice up a couple of tomatoes to see just exactly how sharp and slicy it was going to be and, to be honest, it’s amazing, helped no end by its hollow grind. Anyway, washed it clean, dried it, set it aside and thought no more about it. This morning, however, I noticed quite an obvious reddish brown staining around the button lock. At first, I thought I’d missed a remnant of tomato after washing it. But no. It was rust! Upon closer inspection with a torch I saw that the inside of the ‘stainless steel’ handles had also gone rusty around the inside edges of the milling on the inside! I must say, I’m really cheesed off about this and feel conned, especially when it costs forty quid and the handles of my CJRB Pyrite, costing roughly the same, are truly stainless! So beware…
