    Buck Ranger 112 FR

Posted by Gwyn on 4th May 2023

Ok I'll start with the packaging I keep all original boxes and info with all my purchases that's just me unfortunately the factory box that the buck 112 came in was damaged in transit crushed and split within the outer jiffy bag thankfully the actual leather sheath and buck 112 was undamaged, the fit and finish of the leather sheath is excellent with a positive snap on the press stud opening or closing it, the fit and finish on this knife was also excellent the Ebony handles fit tight no gaps between the frame or brass bolsters with a smooth transition from one to the other, the peening on the pins are nicely done aswell, opening and closing the blade was fairly smooth but after a few drops of oil on all moving parts it's bedding in quite nicely now, the blade is spot on centre when closed and lockup is Appsurlutly rock solid with no downward or sideways play as with the sheath this knife fills me with confidence with many year's of daily use, it came sharp enough to shave the hair from my arm with ease that's sharp enough for me, with being in the property maintenance game it'll come across a variety of daily cutting tasks I own and use none locking knives as well but for heavy work a locking knife is very important to me for obvious safety reasons, it's just a classic well made knife that would look good on display but to me it's a workhorse at heart.

    Buck 112 Finger groove

What you get here, for your money, can't be beaten, so happy I finally got this Buck knife. The quality of the knife, and leather sheath is first class, blade super sharp. Was sold out everywhere else, and I can see why.

    Extremely happy

Posted by Steve Bailey on 15th Oct 2021

Received my Buck 112 finger groove today (ordered yesterday afternoon) and couldn't be happier. The service from Hennie is as always fantastic. The 112 came razor sharp straight from the box, and the quality is exceptional, no play in the blade nor locking mechanism, very comfortable in the hand, and the finish is superb. The black leather belt pouch is very well made although I would have preferred brown (just my personal preference) but all in all, a really comfortable, heavy, well made knife from Buck. My new favourite knife.

A design classic. Everyone should have one.

I have owned this knife for coming up 25 years now. I bought mine in the USA and I paid $70 at the time so it shows that Buck (& Heinnie) are giving you the real deal here. At £65 this is an absolute steal for such a great knife. If you ever decide to buy just one quality folding lock knife then this has to be on your shortlist. It's one of those items that becomes a true friend. You can absolutely rely on it and it will never let you down. It's not only constructed with great precision and materials, it also looks great from all angles. Touch it up with a metal cleaner and a drop of oil and it looks like it's just come fresh out of the box. I'm totally giving this 10 out 10 for quality and value for your money. I have no doubt you will be impressed and I can vouch that you will still be using it for at least 25 years from the day you got it.

    Superb service and knive!

Posted by Eaglekid on 25th Aug 2016

I ordered my 112 FG Buck Ranger and as always Hennie (thanks Richard for an excellent service!) arranged the knife to get delivered the next day - I have now in a short space of time added 4 Knives from Hennie and each transaction has been faultless. Back to the review, I have wanted a traditional Buck Ranger for some time - the Hunter on reflection is too big for my needs, on inspection the knife is faultless, the lock up is superb the closing solid, and the tactile way it fits the hand is very workman (work person?) like. I cannot now explain what has held me back for some years from adding this to my collection of 3 other Buck Knives - which I use on a week's rotation, this one , like the rest, is sheer quality if not the best!
