The Boker Plus XS has been one of the most popular UK carry folders of recent times. The substantial, sub three inch, non-locking blade has a great deal of resistance in the slip joint mechanism making it a superb choice for your everyday carry, using knife.

This little beauty has now had the Heinnie® treatment to add to its appeal. Exclusive to us and with a unique serial number* on the back of the blade this is a cracking addtion to your beloved Heinnie® collection and a superbly practical knife to boot.

The handle is, of course, red G10 and for this model, the blade is made using 440C stainless steel and it's razor sharp out of the box. Dual thumb studs make it left hand friendly and a firm pocket clip enables ease of carry.

These knives are serial numbered, but sadly we're not able to select a particular number for each order.

    Poor clip design

Posted by Unknown on 10th Nov 2024

The knife is attractive and sharp out of the box, with a secure spring. Unfortunately, the clip is not screwed on particularly securely. The clip screws tend to loosen and fall out, causing clip itself to become loose. This means the knife can unexpectedly fall out of your pocket. It is not easy to replace the screws either, since they are a non-standard size.

    IT IS LEGAL

Posted by Neil on 8th Aug 2024

If anyone is concerned about whether this is legal to carry in public by right and without requiring "a good reason" then be reassured that it is. Section 139 of the Criminal Justice Act grants an exemption for folding knives with a "cutting edge" under 3 inches. The length of the blade is irrelevant and so can be over 3 inches. Another reviewer (Dave) makes reference to the case of Brooker v DPP (2005) in support of his (erroneous) view that the length of the blade is what is relevant. That case actually dealt with whether a blunt butter knife with no sharp point was prohibited by Section 139. As it was not a folding knife then it could not be covered by the statutory exemption regardless of length. Beware armchair lawyers.

Boker Plus XS Heinnie® Edition Folding Knife

Posted by Bernie on 24th Apr 2024

A knife is the practical solution in many situations, cutting something free first aid The ability to open that knife one handed is an added advantage, locking blades bring a safety component but we cant have them in the UK. This knife is the next best thing its a lovely little knife easy to open and close single handed, the cut out for your finger adds an element of safety in preventing/alerting you that is closing on your fingers, the colour if you drop it is easy to see and the price is acceptable I have only had this a short time but so far I can thoroughly recommend it.

    Not fit for purpose

Posted by Dave on 16th Aug 2023

This is a well made knife, razor sharp out of the box with great ergonomics and materials. However it is NOT legal for UK EDC, the blade length exceeds the lengths stated as exceptions for UK knife law. As mentioned by many prominent figures in the UK EDC community, in reference to Brooker Vs DoPP (2005) the length of the blade is what is taken into account when assessing whether a knife is legal to be carried without an excuse, not the cutting edge alone. Hennie in general deliver great service in all areas but this should be more clearly reflected on the website and knives of this design should not labelled as EDC friendly, hopefully noone has fallen foul of this as 'beacuse Hennie told me it was ok' would not fall under a reasonable excuse in court.

    Baker Plus XS Hennie Edition

Posted by Jamie Hunter on 25th Jul 2023

This knife is fantastic. The construction is excellent and the blade centred without any adjustment required from the box. The blade is sharp and the retention mechanism is extremely robust. Whilst it is obviously a non-locking folder to ensure compliance with UK law, the mechanism is such that I haven't found myself feeling the absence of a lock is particularly problematic. If there is a downside it is a direct consequence of having such substantial build - by comparison with something like my Spyderco UKPKs it is a good deal bigger so probably not the kind of thing you'd want to pop in your suit pocket. At the price I think it's fantastic value for money.

    Booked Plus XS Heinnie Edition

Posted by Christopher Wade on 29th May 2023

If XS stands for ‘extra small’, then the XL would scare the daylights out of Joe Public! It is a serious-looking knife! One-handed opening requires a strong hand as the spring is strong and the pivot point doesn’t make it easy (although the action may ease off with time). The knife opens with a menacing click, resembling a flick knife, and it stays in place as though locked, thanks to the strong spring. One handed closing requires great care. It needs a strong push to begin closure, after passing that point it could easily snap shut on your fingers. I know. I bled. It is as sharp as a scalpel, out of the box. I wanted a UK-legal knife for confident carry, and this was the closest that I could find to my Spyderco Insistent.
