Dirk Hofmeister of Midgards Messer was inspired by the Nordic art of blacksmithing and created the extremely stable Boker Plus Little Dvalin.

It's an extremely tough little knife with a bulky spearpoint blade made of D2, which has a dark grey titanium coating and a pronounced hollow groove. The jimpings on the back of the blade ensures a secure thumb rest for difficult cutting work. The well-shaped and sculpted G10 handle always lies securely in the hand.

Includes lanyard hole, belt clip and high-quality Kydex sheath.

    Chunky Charmer!

Posted by Dan Sharpe on 24th Oct 2023

I recently bought the Dvalin Drop Point folder and really liked it so this was an obvious choice. It's as chuncky as anticipated but once again Dirk Hofmeister's understanding of chunky ergonomics (chunkonomics?) is evident as this is a beautifully balanced knife and doesn't feel bulky or heavy in the hand at all. It's also a tad lighter than the folder despite being bigger with a thicker blade. As with the folder the blade is very sharp and well ground, cutting extremely well for such a thick blade. The sheath is simple and works well. Overall build quality, fit and finish are excellent. I am very impressed.

    Great value small knife

I was very pleased to get hold of this Boker Plus/Midgard Messer collaboration, and consider it a bargain. It's short, and stout, but fits the hand well (I have XL/XXL hands), as it also does the Kydex sheath. Sharp and useable out of the box. Thanks Heinnie!

    Small but feisty

Always liked Boker products and this li’l beauty doesn’t disappoint. Heavy duty item with plenty of heft … it’s a small blade but the width ensures that you know it’s there. Nice to have about your person if you’re the type that requires a knife on you during your day to day routine.

Great knife to handle, an absolute steal at this price point

Posted by DanDanalog on 27th Feb 2022

Just love the lines of this his knife with the drop point profile. Had a few reservations after reading mixed reviews from some of the early runs of this knife but all appear to have been addressed with the knife & sheath I received. In short, it’s phenomenal! Blade and sheath alone weigh 189g, and I’d personal match this up to a better grade belt clip if that’s your thing. Scout carries nicely with some pull the dot loops. Was concerned the micro jimping would be too aggressive, however they have quite the opposite effect. They are so closely spaced that they smooth out the jimping to feel more like that of a coin edge. My second worry was that the handle length would be too short for my large hands, but again this was perfectly designed to be wrapped securely by all 4 fingers without extending beyond the base of your palm. Love D2 and it comes plenty sharp OTB. Super easy to perfect a screaming edge with very little extra honing. The sheath is outstanding! Made from the thinner sheets of kydex and form fitted for tight blade retention. Easy enough to thumb-push off the sheath and draw one handed. Give the knife and scales a quick spray down with some oil and the sheath loosens up perfectly with no additional adjustments required. Great G10 scales, perfectly aligned! Very much like a heavy weight izula with a better sheath and a handle/scales that are bliss in large hands. Fuller lends itself nicely to a choked up pinch grip. What a knife to handle and an absolute steal at this price point. So good I ended up ordering the tanto version immediately.

Great little knife from Boker Plus

Posted by Dan on 4th Oct 2021

These Boker versions of the Midgard Messer models really are great. I own an original Midgard knife, which I bought from Dirk, and I'm going to say that despite the higher end steel on the Midgard ones, the fit & finish on the Boker Plus versions is actually better...! This could have been designed by Greg Medford...this is a stocky little knife, but still very practical- I also own a TOPS lil roughneck, and that's just too stocky to be useful. The little Dvalin, however, is pretty much the perfect geometry for my hand. There's micro jumping between the bigger jimps, which works really well for a variety of grips, the swedge on the drop point almost makes it a clip point.... I think the fuller is more for the look of the thing, but I guess it saves a bit of weight. ..Don't think I'll bother with the belt clip, though. Paracord square lashing on the Kydex sheath would allow for both belt & neck carry, without taking up so much room. All in all, a great little tool! HH brilliant as ever....!
