I spent a long time pondering this before pulling the trigger and I certainly don’t regret it. Compared to the classic boker stag it was comically blunt but I love sharpening blades so that’s not a problem though may be a big no no for most understandably. It feels fantastic in the hand though(mine are large) and I’ve realised I actually prefer a heavy( it weighs a ton compared to most spyderco’s)knife so that’s fine. What’s best though is the ability to change blades and as I use mine extremely hard in my job means I can just replace the blade if I destroy it or sharpen it down to a toothpick. Most exciting to me is that ( as I knife maker) I can make my own carbon steel blades which I prefer and turn it into my perfect knife.It does certainly feel like the kind of knife you’d hand down to your kids in a battered and beautiful state. Pricey for what it is but still worth it.
