The History Knife & Tool Anchor Knife has been an international classic of Christian seafaring since the 19th century and has been produced in Solingen and Thiers ever since. The French name of this knife ‘Le London’ suggests that it is primarily associated with the great seafaring nation of Britain. It is highly likely that it was also produced in Sheffield or even originated there.
What all traditional anchor knives have in common is a handle made of seawater-resistant ebony, an elaborately inlaid anchor made of solid brass, a sheepsfoot blade optimised for working with ropes, an uncomplicated slip-joint lock and an attached steel bolster. The History Knife & Tool anchor knife also has a practical lanyard hole, which prevents the knife from going overboard irretrievably when working on deck.
