For the 2023 Damascus annual knife, Boker worked with Ricardo Romano Bernandes for the first time. Romano, whose family originally comes from Sicily, was born in Brazil and has been a knife maker since 1990. His craft, stands in a tradition of knife making and sharpening that has been established for several generations. Its design is based on traditional pen knives and immediately impressed us with its innovation and form.
For the modern interpretation of a traditional knife shape, powder-metallurgical Damascus from the Swedish company Damasteel appeared to Boker to be the appropriate blade material. The production of Damasteel requires - even if you work with the most modern technical means - just as much skill and experience as the hand forging of steel. The purity and properties of Damascus steel can be optimized to the extreme with complex combined processes.
The self-supporting construction of laminated blue and grey G10 contrasts most attractively with the Damasteel®'s chosen 'Odin Eye' pattern. The simple and always functional slip joint is an essential part of this type of knife. The size, weight, indestructible G10 scales and rust-free Damaststeel make this collector's knife an excellent EDC at the same time. Delivered in a floating display with a certificate of authenticity and serial number.
