This skinning-style blank is ideal for honing your skills as a knife maker. It’s supplied with a brass guard and holed tang, ready for fitting to the handle of your choice. From spring steel, this blank will be straightforward to finish.

The full-bellied blade is 13cm in length with a 12cm cutting edge. The tang is 5cm in length.

When handled, the tool will need finishing and sharpening – the factory edge is decent, but not as sharp as it could be in the finished article.

A keenly-priced tool blank for your project work.

Just bought 2nd. Of these. The wider, plain blade is good for etching onto. I used a 12volts, 300mA power adapter & Saline solution to etch flames merging into lettering to decorate it & it came out OK for a first try after a bit of experimenting on an old kitchen knife. It took a while & I reckon you'd do better with a 1Amp. Supply but I used what I'd already got. Makes a great wild west knife & I'm going to make a buckskin style beaded & tassled sheath to match it. Probably a pound dearer than it ought to be but still OK .
