As a result of overwhelming customer feedback, the Benchmade Bugout has been scaled down in the form of the 533 Mini Bugout. The Benchmade 533BK-1 Mini Bugout Black & White maintains the same material configuration as its full-sized counterparts in a 42g package. With a closed length of 3.7”, this ultralight folder is small enough for a survival tin, yet big enough for adventure. This version has a striking black coated blade combined with a white Grivory handle. And of course the AXIS lock is there to keep your fingers safe!

    Amazing knife

Posted by Matt on 30th Jul 2022

Got this and its not left my pocket since I got it. Perfect for small around the house jobs. Love the axis lock. Was a little tight when it arrived but loosened up after some time playing with it. Super lightweight you will forget its there

    Really small knife

Posted by Richard Jones on 19th Mar 2022

I agree with Chris if you have really big hands think twice before buying this knife. I was shocked how small it was when I unboxed it. Very thin to hold not much to it at all. However I give 5 stars because the build quality of this knife is fantastic, lovely action to open and close and nice strong lock. Mine is perfectly centred but I would say due to the liner steal not being all the way through to the back of the handle, it could cause it to be slightly off centre.

Benchmade mini buyout Black and white.

Posted by Martin Bowles on 7th Jul 2021

Not used this new knife much yet, it's to replace another Benchmade knife lost earlier in the year. The other model I have had for over twenty years and still going on OK, just that it's blade is part serrated which is not the best for cutting most things. Look forward to many years with the new one.

    Not centered

Pretty self explanatory. The blade isn't centred and for this price point unacceptable.

    An almost perfect gentleman's folder

Posted by Chris O on 18th Feb 2021

I bought this to customise into a gentleman's folder. I also have a Para 3 LW - cutting edge length and shape is exactly the same, but obviously the blade size and grinds are different. I gave the Mini B some flytanium Ti scales which makes it 66g (vs my Para 3 LW's 68g). The Mini B is much better for the Ti scales..stiffer and better balance, but that makes it a very expensive, albeit very cool knife. I feel that's how it should have been in the first place. It's also more compact than the Para 3 LW. I love both knives and both have a great fidget factor. I prefer the LW for work EDC (I'm a big fan of the CTS BD1N steel and would buy it in SPY27, too) and the Mini B as I intended, a perfect, compact and stylish gentleman's folder. I'll point out that I have small hands...if you have big hands, forget it. Both will probably annoy you.
