Description

We love to dig in the dirt and any tool that makes the experience more fun is a tool we want in our bag. After spending countless years testing all different types of tools from locations around the world, the Barebones founder discovered a tool called the Hori Hori. Roughly translated from Japanese, Hori Hori means Dig Dig.

The Barebones Hori Hori, based on a Japanese garden knife was designed to be the ultimate multi tool in your garden and Barebones' unique take on this tool should feel right at home in any garden setting. A quality walnut handle and tempered steel blade mean this tool is built to last. Digging, trenching, planting, cutting, and even popping the top off your choice of refreshing beverage, we think you'll find the Barebones Hori Hori to be your favourite go-to bushcraft tool.

A sheath is not supplied, but is available separately. See "Related Products", below.

    Good, solid and useful

Posted by Kash on 27th Oct 2019

Its a good solid knife, not overly sharp but its not meant to be :-) You could of course give it a tune up, but for gardening duties not necessary the beveled blade allows easier planting of seeds and depth marks which is nice. Handle is comfortable and the serrated edge it fine for some work although I wouldnt expect it to cut many limbs of a tree. The absence of a sheath is the only real issue, practically a gardening tool with so many edges does need a leather or kydex sheath, I like the other reviewer will be looking to ebay for a cheap leather sheath as the ones on HH site appear to small to make one up with. Well worth the money and HH service is very good no problem there. But if HH can recommend a decent sheath option I'd buy from them asap. ATB

A lot of tool for little money

Posted by Tony Jedi of The Forest on 18th Oct 2019

As usual less than 24 hours for delivery, outstanding service from HH once again. A lot of tool for the money, bought to put in my bushcraft bag for the odd occasion when you need to dig a hole in the woods, much lighter than the Nato folding shovel. The serrated side is very sharp. The only drawback it does not come with a sheath. I ordered the Marbles 10 inch one at the same time but it does not fit due to the curve blade. I also tried the Mod survival knife sheath but again this is too narrow. It does go in the MOD Jungle knife sheath though with a bit of persuasion, so is safe to carry in my bag. These can be found on Ebay for under a tenner. Tony
