Description

We love to dig in the dirt and any tool that makes the experience more fun is a tool we want in our bag. After spending countless years testing all different types of tools from locations around the world, the Barebones founder discovered a tool called the Hori Hori. Roughly translated from Japanese, Hori Hori means Dig Dig.

The Barebones Hori Hori, based on a Japanese garden knife was designed to be the ultimate multi tool in your garden and Barebones' unique take on this tool should feel right at home in any garden setting. A quality walnut handle and tempered steel blade mean this tool is built to last. Digging, trenching, planting, cutting, and even popping the top off your choice of refreshing beverage, we think you'll find the Barebones Hori Hori to be your favourite go-to bushcraft tool.

A sheath is not supplied, but is available separately. See "Related Products", below.

Excellent piece of kit. I use for digging, cutting and sawing. Brilliant for garden work and likely will be very useful when camping. I sharpened the blade just a little both sides are really sharp plus no rust yet. Bought a bayonet sheath to holster it and hang from belt. Thanks guys

    BAREBONES HORI HORI CLASSIC

Posted by Shimah on 11th Feb 2021

Has a shaped handle which I prefer to the straight handle on other hori hori's I've used. The blade is almost balanced as there is a full tang in the handle. I'ts heavier than other hori hori's which I like, giving the feeling of a very robust tool. Used already in the garden to great effect.

    Hori Hori

Fancied one for ages, so decided to bite the bullet and get one. Seems really solid and well put together. Not had chance to use it in anger yet, but it doesn't look as if it will struggle with ANYTHING! Very pleased with it and very pleased with the service from HH. Would not hesitate to use HH again, or to recommend them to anyone else. Well done.

Beefy enough for any garden or camp task.

Posted by Paul on 5th Dec 2020

Bought as a present for my father who spends lots of time in his small back garden and greenhouse. Surprised by how beefy this 'basic' model is (the 'ultimate' model must be like a Roman short sword). Finish on the handle not great but this is a digging tool not a presentation knife. Plenty sharp and the serrations well executed. Shame that it doesn't have even a simple sheath/blade cover as buying one would put the pruce up to that of its big brother which comes with a sheath! Looks impressive enough to be a useful, non-threatening camp tool, especially for areas where you'll have roots or stones, etc.. Thinking of getting one myself and will make a project of the sheath.
