    UPDATE ON REVIEW

Posted by Ruukuu on 9th Jul 2020

After searching through my knives i find i have another version of this knife. One with different wood scales. Anyway, it seems the Papagayo DOES have a pin to stop the blade hitting the backspring. Turns out my my olivewood one has it missing, which would make it a quality inspection problem at the factory. Nice looking design......Bad knife

Posted by Ruukuu on 8th Jul 2020

It looks lovely. The olivewood scales are really nice. Its comfortable to hold, and its cheap. Thats the good. Now the two knife killing bad things. 1. It has no washers at the pivot at all. Its just bare metal to metal. Liners to blade. It scratches like hell. 2. There is nothing stopping the blade edge from hitting the back spring. Close the blade and the edge hits a small 'hump' on the underside of the backspring and puts a dent in the blade edge.. I bought it years ago and never used it. I found it in a drawer today and thought i would edc it. But no....ive thrown it back in an even deeper drawer. Take my advice and buy yourself a Victorinox ( from Heinnie of course ) you are guaranteed a quality knife. If i had checked it when i bought it i would have sent it back...….its a little late now now though i think.....lol.

    Brilliant everyday EDC

Posted by Hullblazer on 8th Dec 2016

Bought as a "throw-on" not fussed if it gets lost EDC, chosen for the price and because I think it's a striking design. Not too sharp out of the box but a few strokes on my Lansky system and we're ready to go. Drops a star because the mechanism is a little "gratey" but I expect this to wear in (and, at this price, it's no deal-breaker). Also, the olive wood seems unfinished. Not an issue, I'll beeswax it. Good knife, great service, Thanks HH!

    Nice Little EDC

Posted by Smiley on 12th Dec 2015

Wood feels like decking....... kind of gives it a nice feel once get used to it :) Knife was sharp but not razor sharp........ few strokes on a sharpening rod with little effort. Now VERY sharp :) One of the screws is to far into the wood and shows in the middle where knife closes but doesnt hit blade so is not a problem.......... could easily be adjusted and probably a one off. Nice little knife.......... I like it ;) Excellent service by Heinnies as usual :)
