This cord clearly has merits over normal paracord. However in use it handles completely different. I do not like tents so use a minimum shelter kit of a helikon tex poncho. I have made up a couple of hanks of paracord 25' and 50' as quick access, quick release ridge lines for using a poncho/tarp. I can have a shelter in less than two minutes and have it back down again, packed away in the same time roughly. Now the problem I found with parapocalyse cord is the extra innards, they make the cord stiff in use. If like me you store hanks with a bowline knot on one end and a clover hitch to seal the Hank, with the nature of stiffer cord the knots can work loose on their own. It can be frustrating. That said I have used this cord on occasion for shelter making. If under tension and tying knots fresh they do seem to last without working loose. I use a modified truckers hitch and highway mans hitch to create tension and have a quick release working end. I did experience a little slippage especially when tying these knots particularly, with no further problems. Overall a good cord. In practice I will stick with paracord and bank line for shelter making and probably all my wild camp needs. But I wouldn't be sorry should this be the only cord I had with me.
