The Acta Non Verba M73 Kontos incorporates all the basic components of the knives of the M line. It has a full tang design with a thoroughly shaped perimeter and a light-weight handle for a perfect balance. Its blade is made of Swedish Sleipner steel, (Sleipner is a new generation D2 carbon steel with improved hardness, toughness, and edge retention) Stonewash or coated with Cerakote, with a 3D machined handle, made of a massive piece of micarta. The M73 KONTOS can be clearly recognized by its hexagonal base, machined from an original tank track pin. It comes with a self-locking Kydex case, amended by a couple of molle clips.

great military blade

I've owned an M73 Kontos for a couple of years, now. It's a really good, no nonsense military utility knife. Reminds me a bit of the Seabee's (or CBs) knives of WW2- the track pin pommel doubles as a field hammer, and the blade stock is thick enough to pry open a crate if needed.ANV developed it for use by the T72 tank crews of the 73rd Czech tank battalion, although it's unclear if it's actually issued to them or not. The 3D machining of the handle scales is really good- you have to feel them to understand how good the ergonomics are....Think I'd prefer a leather sheet to the Kydex that it comes with, but it's a perfectly good design. An interesting addition to my collection...!
