Description

A modern take on the classic slip-joint knife, the StatGear Ledge is designed to be as rugged as it is handsome.

Designed with a slip-joint (non-locking) mechanism, which have been around for hundreds of years, the StatGear LEDGE features a modern take on the time-tested, classic design. The slip-joint mechanism & controlled back-spring movement allows for a tactile, classy and buttery smooth deployment and closure. The extended blade groove and extra blade width allows for much easier deployment of the blade than traditional slip-joint knives that have a small nail nick for opening.

The LEDGE boasts a modified sheepsfoot, flat grind, D2 steel blade that makes light work of any daily cutting task while maintaining a razor sharp edge with excellent corrosion and wear resistance enhanced by the stonewashed finish. Heat-treated to an HRC of 59-61, you can rely on the edge of your Ledge to be ready for action!

Contoured G10 handles offer a light texture for a secure and comfortable grip. With its dual layered CNC routed scales, the LEDGE gives a modern spin to a classic gentleman's knife. G10 is a thermoset laminate produced from fiberglass that is impregnated with an epoxy resin binder. G10 is commonly used for knife and gun handles due its incredible dimensional stability to withstand any shrinkage or swelling from extreme temperatures and its superior strength while staying lightweight. The textured pattern on the LEDGE help provide a non-slip surface to the ergonomically designed handle for a comfortable, controlled grip.

The reversible, deep carry, tip-up stainless steel pocket clip allows you to carry the LEDGE inconspicuously for right or left-handed use. The pocket clip is made from heat treated stainless steel with two Torx screws to keep the clip from over bending, breaking or pivoting. This all just means that you can carry your LEDGE on your preferred side, deep in your pocket, out of view and you can rest assured that it will stay securely clipped until needed at which point it is easily removed and ready to deploy.

The slipjoint I have been waiting for!

This is my first StatGear knife but I really must admit I am super impressed with this knife. The overall style is just really nice. It's not a large, intimidating knife but really has more of a sleek style to it and the pop of red color in the black handle really gives it a luxurious look. Handle texture of the G10 is great, blade came razor sharp right out of the box and the extended nail nick in the blade looks really cool and makes it easy to grip the blade for an easy open - you don't need to put your nail in the slot it just helps to give you something to pinch for blade opening. Reversible deep pocket clip is just great and I have had many comments about this knife so I think I might just get one in each of the other two colors and have the hole set.

I have hundreds of knives and I am always searching for a good every day knife. One that is non threatening but usefull . It is a difficult balance to hit to big and its illegal to carry to small and its no use to a mouse. This one is very nearly perfect. Great blade steel good size and an intresting shape. All of these things come together at a really nice price. This is not a knife to cut down trees but im sure it would have a dam good go. This is a nearly perfect every day knife.

    nice take!

Kudos to statgear in what they've set out to acheive here. I'm impressed with the way that they've taken the age old concept of a slippy, and given it a tweak. I'm a big fan of G10 for handles, huge, actually, and love love love what they've done here. It's smooth yet cool feeling in the hand. The amount of force needed to "lock" and close the knfe is IMHO just about spot on. the cutout for the finger suits my average sized mitts and i love the design with the way the lines from the G10 continue on to the blade. as always, props to the guys and gals at Hennys if you got it here any quicker I would of sworn that your were psycic. 10/10 would recommend.

    Nice little knife but

Posted by Rachael on 31st May 2019

I saw this knife and had to have it because I don't have a knife with D2 steel in my collection and also a uk friendly knife at an affordable price what's not to like . It arrived at warp factor speed and I am not disappointed with this knife and after adding a thumb stud it's now also a very nice oho it's exceeded all my expectations and will definitely be a part of my edc rotation ,here comes the but it has one big design flaw but if your careful should not be a problem which is no finger Choil and the blade could possibly close on your finger but with a thumb on the locking bar on the spine of the knife will prevent this also I don't no if this was just my knife there were very sharp burs on the liners which I had to file off to make it comfortable to hold hence why I have given it 4 stars

    Very meh

Posted by Dominic on 28th May 2019

I have one of these from the kickstarter, so I've had it for about a month, and the only positive thing I can really say about it, is that it came shaving sharp. The handle tiny and uncomfortable, and the layers of material that make the criss cross have already started to come off. I also don't like the fact that there is no choil and that can quite easily close the blade on your finger if you close it to quickly. It hasn't happened to me yet, but I can see it happening. Another thing is that this needs two hands to open, which I something I'm not a big fan of. Steer clear and buy something of better quality
