Produced in Italy's knife-making capital, Maniago, the Spyderco Squeak is a non-locking one-hand open, clip carry folder called a SLIPIT. The blade is ground full-flat and made from Austrian Bohler- Uddeholm’s N690Co steel. N690C0 is high- carbon steel with added cobalt for structural uniformity resulting in enhanced edge retention and sharpening receptivity. Textured jimping is machined from the blade’s spine and choil for increased slip resistance.

The Squeak’s blade is held in the open position when cutting by a notched-joint at the knife’s pivot. When closing the blade, the notch generates resistance functionally similar to traditional slip- joint penknife and performs the additional function of smoothing the motion of the blade opening. Increasing control and comfort Spyderco designers add a deep finger choil, naturally jogging the index finger into a position on the underside of the blade directly below the thumb. Positioning the index finger in this choil blocks the blade from accidental closing when cutting and provides a grip position that allows the user to choke-up closer to the cutting edge for greater dexterity.

The handle is FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) and engineered for user comfort whether in the hand, with ergonomic handle texturing, or in the pocket with a reversible tip-up deep pocket wire clip.

    Spyderco Squeak

Posted by Mark on 26th May 2023

Lovely little blade. Unfortunately way too small for my hands. It also concerns me that the blade does not lock in a way that l am comfortable with, so l went for Spyderco Shaman. Much happier camper.

This was my first order from Heinnie Hayes and it's been very easy and straight forward. Fast postage and tracked too. The knife is a pocket rocket and slices through my every day tasks with ease. It's rock solid when in the hand and the way you hold it there is no fear of the slip joint giving way. Also it's UK legal which is why I purchased this knife and overall it's 5 star

    Spyderco Squeak

Posted by Scott on 23rd Nov 2020

I’ve always carried a UK legal folding knife and after years of my girlfriend seeing just how handy they can be actually said she would like one for her birthday. As a Spyderco fan the Squeak was an obvious choice, UK legal, small enough for the pockets usually found on ladies trousers and jeans and a good size for smaller hands. This coupled with a wire pocket clip that allows the knife to sit discreetly in the pocket and a quality blade made it an easy choice. The only thing that could improve it would be a better choice in colours. I’m glad to say she loves it too.

    Perfect EDC

Posted by Sam Webb on 7th Oct 2020

I received this knife yesterday, and was taken aback with the quality of finish. To this point the only 'proper' knife I have had is the Ontario RAT 2, but this is in a whole other league. It is small, but that is the point. Comfortingly, however, that size isn't to the expense of a good handle. Holding the knife it feels solid and secure in hand. The blade has a reassuring half stop as well as a solid click upon opening and closing - it's the toughest slip joint I've used, it's on a whole other level to a Victorinox, for example. The blade has a nice cutout that secures it in use by your grip, and is superbly sharp out of the box. I especially like the hole to open, rather than a nail nick (it was one of the key reasons I chose this knife). The handles are nicely finished, lightweight (without being flimsy) and the clip easy to change - great for a lefty like me. Overall, I'm immensely impressed by this knife and feel that I will be carrying and using it for years to come.

    Just the job

Posted by Blue dog_73 on 12th Jul 2020

I was struggling to find a UK friendly pocket knife that I could carry all the time and not be too concerned if I lost it! This fits the bill perfectly. Small non-locking blade, very sharp out of the box and ideal for all the small tasks. And just to top it off the normal fantastic service from Heinnie Haynes.

    My favourite EDC

Posted by Gareth on 21st Jun 2020

This little blade is very easy to get razor sharp and keeps an edge for ages. Easy to stow away also. I made a lanyard loop for mine which extends your grip for bigger cutting tasks. I love this little knife, a locking version would be nice.

    Cracking little knife

Posted by Simon on 10th Feb 2020

Purchased as an EDC knife, and what a corker it is, have carried it for a couple of months for light duties, not had to sharpen yet. Would recommend to anyone that wants a compact small knife for everyday use. Great service by HH as usual.

    Great little EDC

Posted by Simon on 9th Jan 2020

Bought this because I wanted a hard wearing EDC knife that was small, but big enough to do the job. Have had it for a little over a week, overall I'm really impressed with it, not needed to sharpen it yet and it's still razor sharp. Not too threatening to look at either, which is good. Would definitely recommend. Can't fault Heinnie's service, great as usual.
