Description

Why change something if it works? Because Spyderco practice the principle of C.Q.I. - Constant Quality Improvement. If they can refine and improve the ergonomics or cutting performance of an established model, they do it.

The Spyderco Para Military 2 has several changes over the classic version. The G-10 handle is narrowed at the end improving the ergonomics. The handle and blade have been profiled thinner; removing uncomfortable angles when in the closed position. It features a Compression Lock and an ambidextrous-friendly four way clip which carries tip-up/tip-down, left/right-hand and rests deeper in a pocket. Spyderco kept the same high-performance CPM-S45VN full flat-ground blade but they have also lengthened the blade’s tip and added additional surface jimping to both the spine and finger choil. Implementation of a new Bushing Pivot System generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances. Larger lanyard gives more options for carry.

Refinements to overall construction may not be drastic or even visible to the eye but from the G-10 textured handle to the CPM-S45V steel full flat blade, everything is sharper, smoother and guaranteed to provide performance and user comfort.

Top quality tactical folder. Will last a lifetime. Slim (for the intended use), G-10, top quality CPM S30V steel, improved ergo's over the Para 1, 4 way clip and Sal & Eric Glesser's signatures to boot. Worth £112 of anyones money. Hennie top notch as always, ordered early Thursday, delivered Saturday after a bank holiday Friday!

    Awesome knife!!

A little bit pricey but well worth it. The G10 scales are very grippy, bordering on sandpaper when new. It fits so well in your pocket, in fact I keep checking it's still there even though I know it is. The blade lock-up is excellent, no blade play at all, just all round solid construction. The blade and tip are razor sharp and the spyder hole makes it really easy to open. I have large hands and the knife fits in my hand perfectly like it was made for me. The top of the hollow ground blade starts quite thick and tappers down to the point. I'm sure if you were stuck in a survival situation with just this knife you could do some battoning with it but I'll let Spyderco or someone else test that :P All in all a great quality knife and I'm sure it will last for a very long time.

    Fantastic, with one drawback...

The Bad Stuff I own several Spyderco's, yet the Para is the only one with any noticable blade play. As i'm sure many people know, the loosening or tightening of the pivot affects the horizontal movement of the blade in locked position. While this knife is by far the smoothest deploying knife I own, no matter how tight the pivot screw is done up, there is always fractional amounts of movement. The Good Stuff The Compression Lock is the most convenient I've ever used, requiring very little effort to use. the opening hole is slightly larger than usual, and facilitates very quick opening. High quality clip, very grippy G10 handle and supereior blade steel make this knife a very good package. Definately reflective of the price in terms of materials. The blade arrived very sharp, but can be honed slightly more if needed. Screw construction allows it to be taken apart, substantial bushings allow very smooth opening action, and both Sal and Eric's signature look aesthetically pleasing.

    Best Spyderco to date

Has become my favorite pocket knife and I have loads including loads of Spydercos, Benchmade, Chris Reeve Sebenza etc. The combination of a really tough knife with a very nice FFG blade for efficient cutting in a pocketable and comfortable package is unbeatable at any price. I am seriously considering ordering another just because I love this one so much!
