Really good knife for Bush crafty stuff.

Posted by Louis K on 6th May 2021

Really good knife for Bush crafty stuff. First week I have battoned some wood and whittled the base block of a spoon. I like the size. It's not too big and big enough to baton a small to medium chunk of wood . It's got a good thickness and sturdiness to it and keeps an edge reasonably well. The ferro rod is decent and gives off a good spark. I really like the grip. Although the handle doesn't have a really deep finger guard it sits comfortably in my hand. There are knives of better design and quality out there that you'd pay nearly 10 x the amount but this is great value for a robust and good quality functional knife.

    Great little blade

Yes this is a low cost knife, but it is not a cheap knife... Nice size and weight, decent thick spine... I haven't had a chance to give it any real work to do yet but I have one of the larger schrade frontier knives which has stood up to some serious tasks very well; this one feels of a matching quality... it has come out of the box shaving sharp. The sheath is functional although not attractive... the handle scales are comfortable to grip, however I enjoy making wooden handles for my collection and will be upgrading these in due course... I absolutely would recommend this and the general schrade frontier range...

    Schrade frontier

Very impressed, it’s got some weight to it and made light of batoning, did put a nick in the blade first time out but I think that’s more me than the knife. Ferro rod gives good sparks. Happy all the way to woods!

    very god knife

Posted by Mario on 28th Mar 2020

It had some minor flaws, which were easy fixed. Tough and sturdy knife, very thick in spine but with edge geometry designed in way that it can handle from fine cutting to root digging. Fine in hand. Sheath is usable, ferro rod solid. Overall, after some three months of use, no complaints.

    Stout and Strong

A great little bruiser of a knife, nice thick spine allows it to do some heavy duty work, the scales are comfy and help absorb shock and don't have any hot-spots. Not amazingly sharp out the box but for a budget blade it was good enough, the geometry is also okay for finer work like feather sticks. Overall a great budget choice for a survival, outdoor companion knife.

great knife not razor sharp out of the box but easily fixed. one thing i dint quite realise was quite how thick this knife is 5mm thick at least you know itll hold up to abuse!!
