    A great looking knife

Posted by mike on 20th Nov 2024

I bought this particular model for my collection of mainly Rough Ryder pocket knives and was I impressed ! The usual excellent service from HH . The reason I chose this knife was firstly for its lockback action on the main clip point blade which I really like and second for the really nice aesthetics of the Tobacco bone scales and Acorn outdoorsman badge which i have to say takes some beating in the looks department . The knife itself has a reasonable heft to it which makes it feel solid enough as a practical EDC knife but I also like the slimmer trapper profile which feels right carrying it in your pocket . The two blades were well centred and locked into open position nicely and solid with no movement . The brass liners together with the tobacco bone scales gives this knife the overall look of a quality old traditional pocket knife which really appeals to me . A great addition to my growing collection of Rough Ryders .

    Beautiful bargain

Not a fan of trappers. What sold me was the scales (my favourite RR handles) and the locking clip blade. Plus it's scaled down closer to a stockman size. The two trapper blades look different but actually have an identical edge profile. If a knife has multiple lades I want them to be different, in usage as well as looks. Perfect fit and finish, razor sharp blades, tight lock-up on the clip blade. Bone handles, nickel silver pins and bolsters and brass liners for this price is remarkable. Heinnie service is the best!

    Beautiful Knife

Posted by Alan B on 21st Jul 2016

I have acquired many RR knives now but I have to say this is the best looking handle than on any of the others I have bought - the acorn motif looks really good against the mellow tobacco coloured handle. It is a pity RR don't make many other knife designs with with this type of handle. Again the quality of the finish is outstanding for the price - I just wished Sheffield Cutlers would make Knives of this sort - I am sure they could if they had a mind to. Get one of these knives while you can, I am sure that you wouldn't be disappointed! Well done RR and HH
