    Fantastic for EDC

Posted by Angle Scout on 17th Oct 2015

Bought a few knives and this was a last minute spur of the moment addition. And I am very satisfied with this cracking knife. I got an Opinel No7 Carbon, Hultafors craftsman Carbon and a Svord Peasant black Carbon and this stainless steel cheapy was the only blade razor sharp out the box, cutting the hairs off my arm. It's only a small blade but now be in my pocket everyday. I simply pulled back onthe frame lock gently until the lock no longer engages but creates a good and safe friction lock to UK legal. Handle is a little small but Its a small knife that drops in my pocket. Perfect. You must get one of these.

    its ok

I bought two cheap r/riders along with a more expensive item, the knives were bought just to fill a couple of gaps in a display case . What can i say about this one - well it does what a knife does and thats about it , its not very comfortable in the hand , the grip is all wrong , or maybe its just my large hands.

    Great Small knife

    Posted by Bear1974 on 12th Apr 2015

Good small little folder for every day carry, but this is a frame lock so is illegal to carry in the UK in public, make sure you have a good reason for having it on you. Easy to forget about in your pocket so be careful where you take it, I can easily keep it in my jeans coin pocket and not even notice it. No play in the blade when in use so good and safe if used responsibly. Great addition to a small survival kit and far superior quality compared to the dodgey knives that you normally get in these kits, my advice bin the sloppy bladed survival kit knife and put one of these in instead. And at this price buy more than one and have backups all over your kit. The frame lock was a bit stiff when I first got it, but has loosened off a bit and with practice can easily be operated one handed. I have big hands so was concerned that it might be a bit fiddly, but the dimensions seem to be spot on and comfy for a bit of whittling. Great Knife go ahead and buy a couple

sharpish out the box but still good

    Great for the price.

Out the box was very sharp and a little stiff to open (Hence 4 stars and not 5) which was straightforward to adjust and now not an issue. All in all, a useful little backup and would be great as an addition to your survival tin or first aid pouch for instance.

For 4 quid you can't go wrong. Great little knife. Given it 4 stars as the lock is a little stiff to close. But it will probobly loosen with use.

    Junk

Added this as a cheap "why not" item. Wish I hadn't bothered. The blade is completely blunt and is so far off centre it rubs the frame. Huge pressure and an aggressively serrated lock bar make closing the knife a painful process. Not worth sending a £3.95 knife back, but I seriously considered it. Yeah it's cheap, but even then it's not worth it.

You get what you pay for.

Due to the frame handle it appears much smaller. Came as blunt as a butter knife. Due to the stiffness of the locking mechanism it can be opened with one hand but not closed, this needs two hands. One of the screws on the handle was starting to rust. For the cost its not worth returning, maybe I can use it as a butter knife when I go camping. All in all you get what you pay for.
