    Razor sharp out the box.

Superb slicer. Pull was a bit light, 3 to 4. Fit and finish is very good. A proper hip pocket hatchet and legal carry. Another problem free transaction. Thanks again.

Finish and build quality for the price of this knife is amazing.. quite good weight can’t forget which pocket it’s in.. good size for holding while in use .. blades came reasonably sharp out of the box…blades well aligned no blade rub..

    Excellent Elephant Toe/ Sunfish

What a truly great knife from Rough Rider. Quality all the way. Lovely Black & Blue design with bone handle & steel bolsters. Great fit and finish with smooth action - half stops work great and it's sharp out of the box. Probably not an everyday carry due to the weight but great all the same. You won't be disappointed.

    Elephant toe.

I got this knife as a Xmas gift, I’ve used it to prepare vegetables for Xmas dinner and to open gift wrapping. So far so good, fit and finish are excellent for the £’s it cost! I also received the Christmas Trapper and the Elephant toe is my favourite. These are my first Rough Ryder knives , I am impressed!! The Trapper is for my collection and the Elephant to use and I’m looking forward to using it more. The walk and talk is better than CRKT!

    Awesome knife

This is my second Rough Rider and once again I’m not disappointed. £30.00 for a hefty pocket knife with no gaps both blades are well centred, yes the spring tension is a bit on the light side I would say a 4 on the pull which for me is ok as the blades stay firmly open which is what really matters. I also really like the blue bone covers. It loses one star for the big R on one of the bolsters I don’t know why they are doing this on the new line of knives. Great service from H H not such great service from the Royal Mall but that’s a hole different matter.

For me this is a great knife good size blade heavy and excellent quality and of course it’s a legal carry. So pleased I bought it would recommend.

    Attractive, robust, but very uncomfortable

Posted by Damian B on 24th Nov 2020

There's a fair amount to like - it feels solid, it's very well finished (no gaps, everything's flush and aligned...), the blades are centred and pretty symmetrically ground with no play. A little less good is the fact that the blades were only moderately sharp, and the backsprings aren't very strong for what otherwise looks like a sold, chunky work knife. (But, yes, it's a budget knife. Not a big problem.) But for me there's a big flaw: the swedge on the smaller Wharncliffe blade is quite aggressive, and leaves the top edge of the blade very, very narrow. So when the Wharncliffe is closed it really digs into the fingers when trying to grip the handle and use the main blade. There just isn't - at least for me - a way to grip the knife that's both comfortable and secure. And that sadly limits its utility quite a bit.
