Santa bought me 5 RR knives including this Barlow. All top notch in design, build quality, and finish. This is my favourite, as it just feels so good in the hand. How can they make it for this price ?? Thanks to HH for liaising with Santa of course !!!

    Very nice!

Posted by Stu on 2nd Jul 2016

Usual service from HH ordered on friday turned up first thing Saturday unreal!! lol. Knife was slightly smaller than expected but build quality was better than expected so bonus there. Main blade was quite sharp out the box but the smaller blade was very very dull hence the 4 stars not 5. Spent some time tweaking both blades and they are now both shaving sharp! Overall very nice unassuming pocket knife which I will be using for sure.Well worth the money IMO.

My new favourite. Well at least until I get another one!

I love the traditional look and feel. Small size but quite substantial blades and weight. Fit and finish on this one is brilliant. For £10 its phenomenal value.

A Little Beauty and a Piece of History

Posted by Paul H on 13th Apr 2016

I love Barlow knives, both the pattern and the fact that little has changed about them since about 1670. It is the classic pocket knife and this one adheres to the pattern faithfully. I have a few Rough Rider knives and they have all been exceptional considering their price point. This is no different and in quality it is on a par with other knives I have at over 4 times the price. The white bone handle is what the original Barlow was manufactured with and this has an additional second, smaller spear point, blade. The main blade is the classic drop point which annoyingly had writing on which is relatively easy to polish off. The steel is 440 - a reasonable choice considering the price. The finish is exceptional. Perfectly centred blades, brass liners, nickel steel bolsters and seamlessly fitted handles. The knife is smaller than you think but easily makes the mark as a UK legal slip joint. It's old fashioned look won't have you arrested when you use it to slice your apple either, and it's a perfect size for the small pocket in a pair of jeans. The only down side as others have mentioned is the small blade obscures the nail nick on the large blade. Such an obvious mistake they must have combined two blades from other models and not bothered to re tool the side of the nail nick. A pity because otherwise this is an exceptional knife, and a piece of history. Anyone who has read Mark Twain will probably know the references in Tom Sawyer. At £9.95 this is my bargain of the year so far. Delivery so fast I think they posted it when I thought about ordering it...

    Two cut thumbs

Posted by William on 21st Jan 2016

Lovely knife very sharp otb but, have cut both thumbs trying to open large blade because both nail grooves are on same side and my nails are quite soft. Will have to grind small blade to allow my nail to get into the groove on the large blade. So saying it will be worth it for such a lovely knife.

    Nice

I bought two of these, and they are the nicest of the RR Barlows I've had from HH (and they've all been nice). A good size for EDC.

    Superb barlow

Posted by Ashley on 29th Aug 2015

I now own 6 Rough Riders and this is my favurite to date. It's an ideal siz and the finish is superb. The main blade is only slightly off center but when you factor in the cost it's forgiveable. There are also no obvious gaps in the liners. I love this knife.
