THE perfect bag for your next bushcrafting trip. Helikon-Tex have designed a shoulder bag, not too big, not too small and perfectly suited to its specified use. It has a wide YKK zippered main opening for easy access plus an abundance of Molle loops to add pouches and pockets when required. There are two side pockets for your favourite knife or folding saw and two bottomless pockets for an axe or other larger items. Plus there is a front zippered pocket for smaller but equally vital bits and bobs. The strap is adjustable for high or low carry making it a very comfortable bag to use for a day trip or longer excursion.

    Great for travel

Ideal for travel. I use mine on city breaks. Easy to carry, well organised and actually quite capacious. The best bag I've used.

    update from below

Still love it but a note to others. It's not very waterproof, a light 10min rain shower is okay but an hour of rain soaked it and my contents straight through. Take care if you want to keep anything dry, use a drybag inside the satchel if dry is a must for you.

At last my perfect day bag

Posted by David on 15th Oct 2019

Like most others reading this, you've got a large collection of bags but none are perfect for a day out with a stove and a few tools and other kit. This fits the bill perfectly. Well made, good zips and fasteners. Adaptive green is a mix of olive and coyote, love the colour.

It's made from a body/contour forming material that isn't as rigid as canvas. It forms to your body well. The strap is also incredibly soft even when the bag is loaded. I'm fed up of taking a backpack off every time I need something.Even my knife which is always hidden away because sensible people can't carry certain knives in the UK without the risk of being victimised thanks to poor laws and idiots st***ing others. This bag either goes across the body or off a shoulder and is easily accessible from the top zip. Your gear is always at hand without removing the bag.

There's 2 outer pockets on each side of the bag. 1 a full pocket and the other a slip through for an hatchet etc.. To give an idea of pocket size a silky saw and a garberg in the plastic and leather sheath fit easily. I then secure things by the lanyard and a grimloc.

Inside is like a tardis. A Kelly kettle trekker steel fits lying down with room for other stuff but not with both elasticated pockets filled only a nalgene in one side. The elasticated pockets either side hold a stove, 1l nalgene or a stanley adventure pot. The inner mesh pocket is great for first aid, keys wallet etc.. There's room for drinks and foodstuff too.

Really highly recommended, very comfy bag that holds lots.

    Still great

Posted by Tobe on 18th Sep 2019

Further to my previous review: I still really like this bag. I've used it for a couple of years now and it shows no signs of wear. I did say that I would have liked a water bottle holder on the outside. I quickly found the inside pouches just right and weight on the outside wouldn't have worked so well. I have unstitched the centre seam of one of the end pockets and sewn the bottom up. This makes a better layout for me and was a quick job. Superb service several times since I bought this mean HH are still 5 star guys.

    Great capacity

I wanted a low profile satchel that can carry a lot of kit. This is awesome, it's not overly tactical and easily doubles as a bushcraft bag or overnight bag. Great kit from Helikon.

    Best of its kind

Posted by kryten on 6th May 2018

If you, like me, want a highly functional, semi tactical bag for travelling around with then this is the one to go for.

I've owned several bags like this where the job is to carry travel paperwork and documents, water, keys, sunglasses and other stuff but needs to be really tough but comfortable to carry all day. This is the best one of it's kind.

It's very light, but incredibly strong. It has pockets and zips exactly in the right places. Access to the different areas is effortlessly fast and for travelling around I can't see anything beating it.

Grab one while you can. The Coyote is superb.

    Best Satchel I ever had

Comfortable, really tuff and lightweight. Plenty of pockets inside too and nice straps to adjust bag as needed. MOLLE sides added bonus too. Get it, its well worth it.

    Really good

Posted by Tobe on 15th Nov 2017

Simply a great every day shoulder bag. Not too military and not too sporty. Goes well with outdoor kit or jeans etc. when you don't want to wear a rucksack.
Could do with having a water bottle holder on the outside though. It would be perfect then.
It's really well made and the full width zip works really well for opening it wide. Massive adjustment on the strap for cycling or walking and can be worn on both shoulders if you need.
It's a simple bit of kit in that it's not got pockets all over it so it does pack up really small. I'm impressed.

    Very practical

Posted by Kevin on 3rd Sep 2017

I bought this bag for a trip to Korea. Not used it yet but I've loaded it with camera, baseball cap, neck-tube/hood, poncho, camera, toiletries (you have to show these at the security check) and battery toothbrush, torch, medicines and there is plenty of room to spare for a guidebook, food and drink etc. It's not too small to be practical for a trip and not so big as to be cumbersome. Plenty of molle attachments mean I can add pouches or hook on small bits and pieces.

My only reason for not giving five stars is that it is a little pricey. However, HH beat all the prices on ebay and delivery was free.
