Down behind enemy lines? Left to fend for yourself? These are the scenarios that inspired the Gerber LMF II.
Former military man Jeff Freeman led the charge to engineer this 10" survival knife, field-tested by Gerber with the troops. This knife is as adaptable as the personnel who carry it. Use it to cut through the skin of a fuselage, sever a seat belt, or egress through the Plexiglas of a chopper. Plus, the LMF II does an excellent job cutting firewood and building shelter.
The over-moulded handle successfully limits blistering. There is complete separation between the tang and butt cap, allowing the knife to absorb shocks from hammering and preventing electric shocks. Smartly situated grooves and lashing holes let the LMF II convert to a spear. The low-profile sheath facilitates movement, limits noise, works for parachuting, and attaches to a belt or MOLLE vest. The patented, integrated sharpener ensures edge retention in the field.

Love the feel of this knife. Very pleased with it especially the sheath.
Got mine second hand. Don't hesitate to buy this knife, preparing game buttoning. I use this better than the Tops Alpha which I love. I am getting better at serrations. Get one
I didn't order this from HH but I have owned this knife for 9 months and has seen a lot of love and use. Everything I have thrown at it while on survival training it has done very well.
Ordered and received in less than 1 day, Heinnie Haynes rocks as well, many thanks for bang on service. LMFII is a nice knife, all you will need in a camping/survival knife. Came sharp but now I can shave with it which should look good just as soon as my face grows back :) Top knife, buy one and buy it from Heinnie Haynes, oh and buy it NOW ;P
Designed as a pilots survival tool, the primary function of this knife was to help them cut through webbing, fuselage and windshield to escape a downed aircraft. It was then supposed to work as a multipurpose survival tool. As such, it is a brilliant, no frills, no-nonsense tool with no concessions to fashion and pure, simple utility. It comes with a well made and versatile sheath that can be pared down from a variety of straps to an essential, molle attachable kydex core.
Bought this about a year ago and wanted to wait to do a proper review ... This knife is probably the best survival knife you can buy ... HH best price ... seen it priced up to £120 ... Only tool you will need. Its a bit heavy, however prefer it that way - worth every penny.
Excellent tool, combines the brute force of heavy axe with the finesse and balance of a smaller bladed knife. Only crticism is the black coating which on mine has began to wear simply from drawing from sheath.
Ive seen many knifes before , and this comes know were near to them performance wise. The weight of the blade is fantastic ,the edge is as sharp as any razor. The sheath is very sturdy, very secure and holds the knife very well. Out of ten I would give this knife 11 .
