The CORVO is a traditional Chilean Army knife. Its origins are mysterious: it did probably arrive in the New World with the Spanish Conquistadores, who had already appreciated it during the war against the Moors. It shows undoubted affinities with Jambiya, the traditional Arab knife still used nowadays as a Yemen male clothing accessory. The CORVO was also used during the War of the Pacific. It was produced in several versions such as: the Curved Corvo with the blade bending at almost 90° and the Corvo Aracameño which is longer but with a gentler bending of the blade for a higher flexibility during use. The Extrema Ratio version has been based on this second version.

Outstanding, deceptively useful.

The quality and finish of the blade, handle and sheath are of the usual exacting standards of Extrema Ratio. The handle in particular is comfortable for large or small hands, hard use or fine work, gloved or bare. This in itself is no small achievement. It is the blade shape that merits the most comment. I admit to being simply curious and having a 'wow - want it !' moment. I did not expect it to adapt so well to normal, non-military usage. It performed throughout a wild camping trip faultlessly. Used as a draw knife and battoning were particular strengths. It's agricultural origins shone through. Extrema should be applauded for bringing a lesser known blade shape to a wider audience. Usual stellar service from all at HH.

Unique blade shape with a perfect handle

I like ER knives and the Corvo is my 20th from them, like all the rest its a high quality piece. The blade shape is the unique part and I can't find any the same in my entire collection. It has a powerful cutting action and completely destroyed the heavy cardboard box it arrived in. An excellent collectors piece or a perfect signature tool if you want your serial kills to really stand out. On a serious note the sheath is a nice fit and the service from HH was perfect as always.
