CRKT Burnley Squid Folding Knife 18

I have many knives but there's one that definitely stands out. The CRKT Burnley Design Squid. A sub 3 inch bladed workhorse of perfection. Its available in a few different finishes. But the blackwash is definitely my personal favorite. It adds a slightly used but definitely not abused look to it. As if it's already been at home in your pocket but straight out of the box that way. It feels amazing in hand, a bar of soap is the best way to describe it. No sharp edges or corners that dig into your hand. Which makes it a pleasure to use and hold. Heavy enough to inspire confidence in it's rugged reliability. Yet doesn't weigh your pocket down. I added a simple Paracord lanyard to aid in the removal from my pocket. Dangle it from the lanyard and you will see where the name Squid came from. Aesthetically beautiful. It's tip up right handed carry. Which might be a problem for some but not for me. The blade lock up is reassuring good. Covering a good portion on the back of the blade, no chance of failing and cutting your fingers. With a 2.25 by 1 inch chubby drop point blade it's sheeple friendly. No one bats an eyelid when you flip it out of your open to tear into packages. Sure it maybe not be the toughest blade steel being 8Cr13MoV. But it holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen. Loads of fun practicing too! The opening and closing is buttery smooth, a perfect one hand opener. And the blade centring, its just perfect, something I've not found on knives quadruple it's price. Which brings me on to one of the key factors knife collectors and enthusiasts look at price. It's £24.95 right now on here. For under £25 you really can't get better in my opinion. In fact I'm probably gonna buy another to add to the collection. Stonewashed finish this time I reckon tho.

Shame this is not legal to carry in UK as it's a superb knife. Real quality and tactile feel - hard to put down.

I've been using the stone wash version and coupled with the size and deep carry clip, it's a nice and discreet knife to use. Holds an edge well and locks up pretty tight, Solved the problem of a small handle by attaching a small lanyard, this also assisted with grip as the handle was smoother then I expected. Only real issue I found for me was on opening the blade using the thumb studs. One can't get enough purchase on the stud as the edge of the handle is to close to the stud when it's close - I think trimming the scale back a couple of millimetres could go a long way to help with this and add to the overall ease of use. Over all good quality, and robust little knife.

I bought this as a utility knife for day to day tasks at work and it hasn't disappointed. Build quality is very good, the blade is sharp from new, the the blade is a good size and shape for my needs (cutting straps, cable ties, opening boxes, etc), size is unobtrusive for pocket carry and it feels reassuringly solid in use. The only niggle is that one handed opening was initially a little stiff but after a few days use it now feels easier (probably just me getting used to the technique). Still gets a five star despite this as it is excellent quality and value. Also excellent service from HH, thanks guys.

Bought this as I've become a big fan of CRKT knives. Time and again I get blown away by just how much knife you get for very little money from this company so decided to give the Squid a go. The specs are all in the description but let me just say that the fit and finish of this knife are superb. Fits nicely in a medium sized hand, feels very tactile yet robust with a solid mechanism and snappy deployment. No trouble swiping this open and closed with one hand. It's a little smaller than I expected but in a good way, it's also so smooth and well made that I don't want to put it down, the only down side is that it isn't UK legal carry because I really want to carry this more than the law allows. Would make a great EDC knife and despite its small size it's definitely up to fairly heavy tasks. Came a little dull out of the box but easily touched up with a ceramic stone to get to hair shaving level. If you're thinking about it, just get one. 20 quid is nothing for a knife of this design and quality. I'm really happy with mine.
