Boker Plus Worldwide Folding Knife 18

This is a well made knife and certainly strong in manufacture. I was happy in receiving on very fast delivery from Heinnie this blade, but I had to return it as after cutting my fingers a couple of times when opening or closing it I realized that it was not of use to me as it takes two strong, dry hands and full attention to open the blade for use. This I wanted as a tool in my workshop but it would not be practical. The heavy back spring that holds the blade open (and at 90 deg. half open) is strong. At first I convinced myself it would be fine but in the end, it would be a hassle to de-glove and open it up and it needs a good grip. If it either had a lug on the blade or a less aggressive cam on the pivot, I would have been ok with it. I had a great conversation with Nick about this and good customer service confirmed to me that Heinnie are a worthwhile company to buy from. I will recommend them and there is a huge selection of quality knives to choose from.

Bought this knife for myself maybe a year or 2 ago. Came out the box shaving sharp and kept it edge for months. It's in my pocket every day and I've yet to sharpen it. Still mega sharp. I've just bought another 3 to give to my brothers for Christmas. Great product. Bit stiff to begin with but loosens off to a more manageable 2 handed unfold.

This blade is a fantastic tool for working, it's a really goo d knife to beat on and use for tough work, it is also street legal in most places including the UK so you can have it on you whenever. It holds a really nice edge and glides through most things? It has a nice choil and jimping for comfort and feels great in the hand. It's heavy and sturdy and feels like it's worth more than it costs. The "lock" is incredibly sturdy and there's no danger of the knife closing on you. Now, onto why it is only 4 stars. The one star is missing because opening the blade can be very difficult as the spring is EXTREMELY tight and strong, and while my Boker plus XS (My other street legal drop point knife) opens with relative ease with one hand and is easy to close with one hand. However, this knife is impossible to open with one hand and is tough to open with 2 hands and given how vicious the spring is on this thing I would NEVER attempt to close it with one hand. That's the only gripe I have with this knife and would absolutely recommend this to people.

This knife feels great in the hand and performs very well. It is both a thing of beauty and very functional. It is very difficult to open and close the blade, which I think makes it very safe (provided you don't do yourself any injury whilst trying to close the thing). This, however, leads to a 'UK friendly' issue. Apart from the fact that it looks rather deadly, any police officer who saw this would, I am sure, take it off you, because of how firm the blade feels when it is deployed. It FEELS like a lock knife, until you really put the pressure on to close the blade. it follows the letter of the law, but not the spirit. The scales are marked as Zytel on this website, but other sites claim they are G10. Also, they are supposed to be black, when in fact they are of more of a very dark grey/blue hue. Overall, I like the knife a lot, but will never be taking it out with me.

this knife is simply brilliant. I highly recommend it to people living in the UK. Pros Fits well in pocket Pocket clip is strong but also movable to both ends and sides of the knife (ideal for left and right handed people) Comfortable Handle Good grip Sharp and sturdy blade with a thick spine and jimping for more control Cons Quite difficult to open requires good grip strength (there is the possible danger of cutting ones self when opening it. On the other hand I actually like it this way as despite lacking a locking mechanism I am not afraid that the knife will close on my fingers when using it. The jimping is also quite rough so I suggest wearing gloves when using the knife or filing the jimping down a little. Overall it is an excellent blade one of my favourites and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Very well made and solid knife at good price point but spring is so stiff it’s actually dangerous to operate so never gets used.

This is a fantastic knife. Came really sharp out the box love this knife. If your thinking about it get it you won't be disappointed.
