Bastion Bolt Action Stainless

I have had other various pens and my last one I still like. But there's something about the finish on this and the weight that I love. Stainless steel, weighty, shiny, one hand operation... This is great. Also, as a side note it's possible to shine it up even more because I am exploring modifying it to add a ceramic ball bearing in the top and my initial attempts I scratched the top a bit. So I ran it around and around on a strop with compound on it and it's even shinier than the rest of the pen... so if you have the time you could remove the clip and REALLY shine the whole thing up if you care to. You cannot hardly see where the end unscrews too, which really aids the visual look. I recommend you use Renaissance Wax on metal things like this because it adds a lovely additional feel to the pen/item. I have waxed this pen and it is even nicer than before. Epic and well worth the money. Use the fine model of Fisher space pen refills, they are the best, write smooth, for a long time and is a more secure ink which is radically more difficult for criminals to tamper with once you have written something (think doctoring cheques...) So, I really love fisher refills in my pens. If it can't take fisher, I don't buy. period. Super pen, at a good price. Feels great.

This pen is excellent, and weighty! , now have to learn to be ambidextrous to avoid getting one forearm like popeye using it. Serious kit

do not put it down someone will take it and you will never see it again. Its lovely.

Looked at reviews from here and the US and some have complained that the higher quality refills didn't fit without a bit of attention either to the pen or the refill. I'm happy to report mine is fine and everything works without adjustment, further the refill supplied is also pretty good. And of course the usual faultless service by HH. (The best shop on the internet.)

Fantastic pen can't put it down tried mine with Parker refill and Fisher space pen refill and they fit perfectly without any fettling . Great pen get one

Great pen which is nicely made. It is heavy, but being made from machined stainless, that should be no surprise to anyone. As for finding a decent refill, I opted to modify a Parker refill rather than modify the pen. Gripping a refill gently in a drill and spinning the side of the nib on a smooth file, it takes seconds to make it fit the pen. Really good pen at a sensible enough price. Love it.

Lovely pen, heavy and feels good in the hand, would be 5 star but the tip opening is too narrow to fit either Fisher or genuine parker refils.

This thing weighs 80g. I didn't look at this before ordering. I saw a bolt action pen for a decent price and hit the buy button. Normally, such a heavy pen wouldn't get my attention or approval. However, the quality forgives the weight. The join is practically seamless. The design and machining is top notch. It is so overbuilt though. There is a carbon version but I don't think that really helps much. It's a beast - it will last forever. It doesn't roll anywhere and the clip works well. The pen steel is smooth; so that works against the grip of the clip. They could afford to shave a bit of weight off of it and still retain the strength but for the price, it's a keeper.

If you want a good looking, stainless bolt action pen, look no further. It's a substantial pen, heavy as pens go, but you wouldn't be looking at stainless if you wanted lightweight. The quality of finish and machining is superb, the joint on my example is invisible, superb vfm. If I had to pick a negative, and it would be being very picky, the clip section where it's screwed to the pen body could be recessed as on the county comm embassy pen, but that would no doubt make the pen more expensive due to the extra machining required. All in all it can't be beaten at it's price.
