The Midgards-Messer Lenore is the first knife design by Lia Hofmeister – a homage to the dark elegance of gothic aesthetics and the atmosphere of Edgar Allan Poe’s famous poem “The Raven”.
The blade has artistic perforations modeled on the filigree lines of Gothic windows. Pointed arches, fine ridges and architectural shadows give the knife an almost sacred appearance, as if it were a fragment of a steel cathedral.
A copper ball sits at the end of the handle, its warm sheen forming a fascinating contrast to the cool blade. The pattern of which picks up on the openings in the blade and continues them in a reflective manner – a small, technical work of art that completes the design.
The titanium handle itself features a filigree pattern that continues the Gothic design language: fine, ornamental, light and yet robust.
Lenore is not just a knife – it is a piece of modern gothic art. An object that translates Poe’s dark romanticism into metal and brings a young designer’s vision to life in a unique form.
The knife is supplied with a necky sheath.
