Add to BasketSecond review and it’s now 5* not 4. I’ve used this knife at work as a firefighter and it has held up brilliantly. That D2 is amazing. As it’s not an expensive knife you’re not afraid to use it and it’s small enough not to be threatening. I started to get a good amount of blade play so I opened it up and for some reason the nylon washers were all chewed up. I went on Amazon and bought some brass washers (M4 I think) and it’s worked perfectly. I’ll be getting their other D2 models now.
Lovely item. The upgraded d2 steel blade is a bonus. Only problem at the moment is the sometimes stiff initial opening using the thumb disc. I’m hoping this will ease off.
I’ve always liked these Kershaw/Emerson knives but after having a bad experience with 8cr........ blah blah, I wasn’t willing to try one. When they came out in D2 I decided it was time to go for it and I’m glad I did! This is a nice size that doesn’t take up too much room in your pocket. It came really sharp and the D2 holds a great edge. The blade was slightly off centre but there’s a guy on you tube called Zelrick who shows you how to sort that, if like me you don’t know. If you’re into martial arts check out Libre Fighting, they show you a good way to set it up and the Training version of this knife (unfortunately not stocked by HH (hint hint) ) is a very reasonable price unlike many other manufacturers. Highly recommended!
I'm a fan of Kershaw, so when I saw this one with its D2 steel blade I ordered it straight away, The knife came sharp, but a couple of passes of a ceramic rod made it razor sharp I have used it every day while on lock down from opening boxes to DIY around home and garden with out any issues edged retention is excellent I use a pocket knife in my every day work so this will be added to my tool bag once back at work. The pocket 'opener' works really well once you master it ,,,but watch your fingers!! The blade deploys fast and before you know it. I do find the thumb disk a little hard to open one handed but maybe it's just me. Over all an excellent well made knife, excellent Heinnie service.
