The Hogue EX-F01 Tanto G10 is the ultimate field tool packed with features. Its thick A2 carbon tool steel blade and hefty construction means it is ready for all tasks. The broad tanto point in front of the false edge provides strength and versatility. It will just as easily cope with battoning and larger chopping jobs and with the unsharpened but serrated "false" edge on the back of the blade creating grooves for in wood is a breeze.
The 3D sculpted G10 scales provides the user with a comfortable grip while performing strenuous, long cutting activities even in the wet or with gloves on. To complement the grip, the blade includes a serrated thumb ramp and finger detent in the frame.
The EX-F01 also has an integrated hidden compartment in the frame which is accessed by using the supplied wrench to store vital survival equipment such as tinder. This version of the EX-F01 has a 14cm (5.5") black coated blade. The sheath is Kydex with belt straps and Molle straps wrapped around the body of the sheath allowing Molle carry.

I’ve already got a couple of hogue blades and I’ve always been impressed with them but this one is my favorite to date. The blade is very sharp and handle ergonomics are outstanding and the balance and weight are spot on. Usually if I like a knife I have to upgrade to kydex (which usually has to come from America) which adds on a lot of expense! But this sheath has so many ways to carry, is ambidextrous and the locking thumb tabs holds the knife in very firmly with hardly any rattle and no chance of falling out. As usual Heinnie’s service and notifications is spotless.
Hogue's "Automatic Retention" scabbard is first class. Made from hard, thick plastic, it has 3 points of retention. It is jump ready. Also, you can attach it to your belt, pack or vest (molle or pals). It has a drain port, and it looks like the rig is detachable. The knife is very well made, and designed. The bevel is polished. I would say the "Broad Tooth Saw Back" is for notching only. The G10 handle is textured with a stippled pattern. It is quite aggressive, I really like it. I think the 5.5" fixed blades, handle better than the 7" versions. There is a YouTube video review by "Kentucky Ballistics" 12.57 min. Thanks to HH for a great price. I am very pleased with my purchase.
