Some watches don’t have an easy time of it. On one hand they have vital functions to perform, while retaining a characteristic allure on the other. Many watches find it hard to rise to this often somewhat contradictory challenge.

Not the case with the redesigned Ternos Professional TT from DAVOSA. This timepiece is a consummate professional and easily accompanies the wearer down to depths of up to 500 metres. And after punctually resurfacing, it makes a truly eye-catching statement on the wrist.

    Ultimate Submariner Homage

Posted by Cameron on 22nd Dec 2015

If you love the design of the Rolex Submariner but not the price tag than this is the one to get. The watch is very with quality and features premium materials such as ceramic and sapphire crystal. The automatic swiss made ETA 2824-2 movement keeps time adequately, on my particular watch it is 6 seconds slow a day. The movement is hackable, meaning you can set the time to the second. The second hand sweep is smooth. The lume used on the applied indices is very bright and lasts several hours. the ceramic bezel is very glossy and has the benefit of being scratch proof. The printing on the dial is very crisp and precise. The satin finish on the case, bracelet and clasp is excellent, however the high polish finish on the sides of the case and the edges of the bracelet links is a little hazy although it did shine up nicely using a cape cod polishing cloth. The 20mm bracelet is of excellent quality and has vey little play in the links. Resizing the strap was simple as the links screw together with tiny flat head screws. The clasp is a simple fold over design with a safety bar that is engraved with the Davosa logo. The bracelet also features a diver extension and solid end links. The screw down crown is well engineered and makes setting the time and date simple. I was a little disappointed that the box shown in the picture was not the box it as supplied in. The box that my Davosa Pilot Chronograph came in was the same as the one shown, however the box supplied with this watch was a standard faux leather box that you would receive with cheaper watches. Although the overall quality of this watch is excellent, do not expect to find the same fine details in this watch as you would expect to find in Omegas, Rolexs or even some of the higher end Davosas. I have some what of a collection of swiss watches, and although this is not my favourite watch, I certainly enjoy wearing it. I would recommend this watch to anyone looking for a high end, James Bond era, submariner homage.
