Arkansas Ceramic Rod
Maybe the other reviewers should try a gentle clean with a little soap liquid and warm water and a green scrubby thing. I have just ordered a new one for a friend, I still have two which I bought years ago and used professionally and in my home kitchen. Both are excellent for the job of keeping knives very sharp. and if used before and after using the knife There will be less need to resort to a whetstone which will extend the life of the knives. This rod is not intended to remove dings and notches from knives that have been abused, that's what whetstones are for and in some cases a grind stone. Always wipe the knife witha damp cloth before and after using the rod and clean the rod after every four or five uses, it will give an amazing edge to any knife if used correctly.
