Not what i was expecting from SVORD

Posted by Matt on 3rd Jun 2020

I am an avid fan of Svord and have many peasant Knifes some still going strong after 10 years.. But this knife is not what is shown at all in the pictures. The blade shows no coloration at all like in the picture. The normal natural Black carbon patina of Svord knives looks as though is it now painted on or dyed not what I was expecting from a Svord knife at all.. The handle is a different shape and the style and construction of the Sheath has changed not that it makes much of a difference..... I think it just shows that the product has changed and the picture needs updating to the new Economy sporting knife from Svord. In which case this one is well over priced. oh and mine turned up pretty much blunt with an off-center tip think I got a lemon this time around. :(

    Simple all round belt knife

Posted by Bert on 19th Aug 2017

This one is a jack off all trades if there ever was one. Lots of bushcraft knives are to thick to be of use in a kitchen. Lots of kitchen knife don'the have the mass needed to carve wood, power cuts... This one combines the pro's from these world's and this results in an awesome belt knife. Great for foodprep and carving alike. No bells and whistles on this knife but performance all over. If kephart ever saw this knife we would see lots of copies from custom makers!

Your money goes on the blade!

Posted by Dr Mike on 10th Nov 2016

I heard of these years ago and as I had a relative travelling to New Zealand I asked them to get me one. This guy does things with tool steel that verge on alchemical. You buy a knife for the blade, for sharpness and durability, this gets 10/10 on all counts. If you want a superb value very tough knife that will last for years this will do. The convex grind retains sharpness for ages and if you want to hammer it through a machine screw it will do it!

I got this knife from hennie about 3 years ago.

This knife is very underrated . Of all the knives in my collection for me this is a cracking all rounder . The knife comes very sharp but put a little time in on a strop and this thing I s truly awesome And quite scary . This is a workhorse with no fancy * you don't need honestly if my life depended on just one knife this is it . I am not saying that it's the best knife in the world but you get a some quality here for the money ... Buy it .

    A simple knife

Posted by Timbo on 25th Jul 2014

I was disappointed on opening it, as I had expected better finishing and quality. It certainly has no frills as advertised, but the blade does the job and it looks pretty tough. I personally want a bit more from a knife and for the price I can think of knives that would have suited my taste better.

    another great tool

Posted by lovatscout on 11th Sep 2012

Ummmed and ahhhed about getting one of these for a while, bought the orange outdoor one for deer stalking and it excels at that. This is a great knife, not too cumbersome, allows delicate work. Scabbards a bit too heavy for the knife but I like it and the quality's there. Sharpens easily after you polish the protective oil off the blade, strops really well. Great all round knife, it is a hunter though could do double duty for bushcrafty stuff but I'd keep this in your stalking bag. Nice one, great service again from HH.

    Simple quality

Posted by Graham S on 7th Jan 2011

I have one of these, it is simply the sharpest knife I have ever owned. It is simply made, and robust. If I'm heading for the great outdoors, 9 times out of 10 it's the one I take.
