Nice, but not quite as good as the HH UKPK

Posted by RandomReviewZ on 5th Feb 2022

I'm a huge fan of these UK Legal Spyderco options. I already have several UKPKs and a N690 Urban. I bought this one specifically to modify with some Titanium scales like I have done with my HH UKPK. The knife arrived in perfect condition and very sharp. The colour of the scales is a little pale for my liking. More orange-pink than red. As with any Urban, the action isn't quite as smooth and satisfying as the UKPK when breaking the full and half stops. Overall though, this is an excellent UK legal carry knife.

    SPYDERCO URBAN LIGHTWEIGHT HEINNIE® EDITION

Posted by Sebastian on 1st Feb 2022

Got the red version, as wanted a quality knife to go with my red EDC gear. This pocket knife is lovely, well built, zero defects, quite light and importantly the blade material is good stuff. First thing i cut was some dense packaging foam, it cut through it like it was butter. Can't really flip it open, but it's pretty easy to open one handed using the thumb hole. Wondered what the hype was about Spyderco.. but now i know. It has a Hennie logo on it which is pretty cool and unique. Love it.

Received promptly as usual from HH. Perfect size for EDC and feels good in hand. Excellent purchase. Recommended.

The little brother to the UKPK doesn't disappoint

Posted by Lewis Gregory on 8th Jan 2022

This knife is perfect for UK carry as the size and color are less threatening than an all black UKPK, and the Heinnie edition UKPK drops are few and far between. For anyone waiting for the HH UKPK this knife is a great substitute. This knife has a similar half stop to the UKPK, where it glides open and only has the half stop when closing the blade. The Italian build quality was superb on the knife I recieved, although some complain about quality control. Luckily HH have amazing customer service if there are any problems. This knife came quite sharp out the box, not razor sharp, but close enough for everyday tasks. The FRN has a little give, but not enough to seem soft or cheap, and definitely not enough movement to interfere with the blade. All in all the knife is perfect for UK edc, and meets all of my needs.

    Small but great EDC

Posted by Laura Shepherd on 7th Jan 2022

Received the knife yesterday and have been using it a lot since. Brilliant fast delivery as usual from HH, it turned up the day after ordering it. The knife feels great in the hand and came razor sharp, feels solid enough as well as being lightweight. The only minor issue I had with it is I wish it was a deeper red as the scales have an almost pink look to them.

    Spyderco urban lightweight

Posted by Steve ROBINSON on 4th Jan 2022

What a lovely lightweight uk friendly knife. Arrived shaving sharp out of the box. Carried it for the last couple a days loose in the pocket, you wouldn’t know it’s there. Fits my hand comfortably with no issues with the scales. Only 4 stars as it’s not had a workout as yet, but I know it’s going to be fine. For anyone I that’s thinking about it , go for it you’ can’t really go wrong at that price

    Great knife

Posted by Jon C on 17th Nov 2021

I bought this knife after one of my mates reported good things about the Spyderco Urban Lightweight in N690 steel. Before buying this version I had never owned a Spyderco or a knife in CPM s30v. I was never sure about the Spyderco blade shapes and thought they looked less functional. I can now say I am a convert. Love the blade shape, love the s30v steel. For me it's a great premium steel with a good balance between edge retention and sharpenability, plus it is still corrosion resistant. Can't comment on how the s30 compares to N690 in practical terms but I don't imagine you'd be disappointed with either. Definitely keeping my eyes open for future Spyderco releases, especially UK carry. In terms of that aspect the blade has great utility, is none threatening and the folding mechanism is good and strong. It even has a half fold stopping point. The handle is very comfortable. I like keeping this in my pocket as my EDC and it is definitely in my top 3 EDCs. Some people have mentioned about the colour of the FRN scales - they aren't as red as other special editions but personally I don't find "off red" off putting at all. Finally, Heinnie customer service is awesome. I had my first ever blade QC issue with this knife - Heinnie just sent me the details for free return and sent out a replacement, which was perfect. Makes your confidence in buying from Heinnie even greater than it was before.

    Great knife

Posted by Gavin on 15th Nov 2021

I’ve been carrying the spyderco ukpk for years and love it. However I always felt it was a touch to big for my needs. After seeing this version of the urban on hennie I thought I’d give it a go. So glad I did. It is the perfect size the handle is shorter and just fills the hand nicely with nothing out the back. The blade length is a great size for edc without being too threatening which I thought the ukpk was it also feels better built. The upgraded steel is a bonus and the colour looks good too. Very happy with it.
