Shaving sharp out of the box. VERY strong detention making it hard to close which is great if you want to keep your fingers. Still manages to be easily opened. Minus one star for not having a thumb stud but you can fit an aftermarket one like I have so it can be one hand opening. Very light. Great deep carry clip.
Excellent solid EDC knife!! Excellent build quality and razor sharp on arrival!! Very robust d2 blade with wicked finish!! Excellent value for money!!! Very happy!!!!
It is easier to discuss the few things wrong with this knife than all the many things that are nailed on. The pivot screw is a little fiddly to undo/tighten, the G10 between your finger and the blade could have been 2-3mm deeper and it could have had a thumb stud. Okay, the pivot screws function, the fingers have not got cut yet and the Nail-Nick works. Problems sorted, simply put, for me, this is the best Slipjoint I've ever used, it's light, agile and tough, the blade is capable of intricate and grunt work and the clip works. The only problem I cannot surmount for EDC is the lack of a Lanyard facility on it. I can assure SOG that I will NOT be forking out more cash on a 'Mark II' that does have one, I'm happy using it and having others think poorly of SOG's forethought while smiling inwardly that I still enjoy using, if not carrying it.
Great knife.really comfortable in the hand . Not super sharp out of the box but that's a good thing because you will want it in your hand
As near a perfect compromise as I can imagine for the UK. Well priced and well made, the action truly is stiff to close for a lock joint and the back is flush open so doesn’t get full of dirt etc. hard to fault, yeah you could have a CMP whatever blade or micarta handle with stained titanium inserts, but would it actually make it any more useful a knife? No, it would just double the price at least. Highly recommend if your someone who actually uses a knife regularly, at work or at play, this is functional in all the right ways, priced well and doesn’t look or feel too tactical
My favourite knife so far, extremely sharp out of the box, it looks great and delivery was very efficient as usual.
Great improvement on the original. Slightly less finger protection form closing but not gone completely. Nice sculpted feel on the handle now and strong lock up. D" excellent. Great UK EDC. In my pocket now.
