Firstly, great service as ever from HH, however the quality of the Real Steel thumb stud is rubbish. I have been after one of these for ages, received it this morning and attempted to fit it only for the grub screw to round off. At first I blamed myself, managed to get the screw out only to find the thread does not go completely through the stud, so would never of tightened hence to rounding off. Very poor design.
You can open the knife with one hand now using this thumb stud, is it worth the extra money over a regular thumb stud ? Probably not but I went with it and it fits nicely
Simple design, simple application, one thing I would say use a decent quality allen key, think the supplied is made from cheese, but your buying the stud not a tool.
Grub screw rounded off .suspect hole not fully threaded now won't go in or out
Although service from Heinne was perfect the product was not. The grub screw failed straight away using the supplied Alan key meaning I had to pull the thumb stud off with a pliers.
Works. Hex key supplied. Just slimmer than handle so doesn't hinder pocketing. Recommended.
Great for turning your two hand opening Luna into a one hand opener
Excellent quality product some might find them a little bit too small for the sausage sized fingers out there, i have only given 4 stars as when you are putting them in place just make sure you don’t go getting ( like myself old monkey muscles) and tightening them up too much or you will for sure strip the Allan key hole. I have had 14 of them and done it 3 times! You can easily get a replacement grub screw from eBay being sure that you get a M2.5 thread or even better just don’t over do it lol
Straight up worse than the quick thumb stud. Sure it looks more minimal, but it is way less comfortable to use, and the screw stripped immediately so now I'm stuck with it. I recommend you skip the branded one and get the quik one instead which is great.
