The Queen Canoe Abalone is a stunning little pocket knife. The Canoe is a traditionally styled folder and is the favourite of many knife collectors. It is beautifully formed and sits very nicely in the hand. There are two blades both non-locking and under three inches so the knife is classed as UK legal carry.
This penknife's outstanding feature, however, is the handle. The abalone is intricately patterned and exquisitely coloured. Brass liners and nickel silver bolsters complete the appealing package.

Looking strong sharp strong small knife
My Daughter bought me this knife for father’s day so I haven’t had it for long. However as far as I can see the quality is top notch and the sharp bits are properly sharp, easy to use and fit for purpose. As a child I was gifted the cheap Sheffield version of this knife and although the prices are similar (allowing for inflation since 1969) the modern version is a quantum leap in terms of quality. A modern improvement on a classic EDC however I strongly discourage the routine carrying of blades in the UK today. Collect and enjoy modern steel but never carry it without very good reason. I have a truly stupid number of knives but NEVER carry in a public place not even a tiny Swiss Army knife.
So pretty and colourful its a gorgeous, never relay knew abalone but a fan now, my new daily carry knife now
This canoe showed a lot of promise given the price but should never have been sent out. Based on the price I was expecting the abalone to be a composite of small pieces set in resin, I wasn’t expecting to find large flakes of the surface layer to be missing! It’s quite horrible and I’m sorry to say that I can’t recommend this knife at all.
