Description

This ain't no pocket princess - the Kizer Drop Bear Fix 7 packs a brutal 4.7mm thick blade that laughs at punishment. We're talking splitting wood, prying open crates, and cutting through anything that stands in your way. This fixed blade is tougher than your toughest day.

Forged from 1095 high-carbon steel, this blade delivers exceptional toughness for batoning wood or prying tasks. The anti-corrosion coating protects against moisture and abrasion in harsh environments. Trusted by outdoor enthusiasts for field durability.

The contoured handle molds to your hand like it was made for you, with strategic jimping and finger choils that lock in your grip. Dual lanyard holes keep it secure when things get sweaty, while that blood groove isn't just for looks - it balances the blade like a dream.

The K Sheath System is next-level smart: dial in the perfect retention tension for your needs, then rotate the clip to any of 8 positions to carry exactly how you want. Whether you're hiking, working, or just heading out, this setup moves with you

    Tough AF

Posted by David Howell on 29th Dec 2025

So I got this knife a few weeks ago but wanted to beat on it before reviewing. I've actually been using it to split/baton wood. It's built and priced to be a user. Hasn't lost it edge or got any chips. Paints come off a bit but it is just paint. As far as the egos and the steel go in typical Kizer fashion it's very compelling for the price.

Really impressed with the shear amount of knife you get for the modest price. Good at chopping and splitting wood, cutting cordage etc. The spine of the knife lacks a 90 degree edge so it isn't good for scraping. Otherwise a great knife for camp and wood processing etc. I've even used the handle in a bow drill set as a bearing block.

    Great Camping/Survival Knife. Awesome Value.

This new Kizer is an excellent knife for wilderness camping in the Scottish Highlands. No need to take an axe. It will baton and process all the firewood needed and slice and dice all the potatoes and carrots anyone could want. It has got a 90° spine for a ferrocium rod but that would strip the coating and this knife is 1095 so will rust if not looked after properly. 1095 is an excellent steel if looked after. It's tough, easy to sharpen and holds an edge for a decent amount of time. The handle has very comfortable G10 scales secured by 3 Chicago scews. The middle one has a bowdrill divot for real enthusiasts of the extremely primitive method of making fire. I'm sticking to my ferro rods and strikers. Kizer have gon head to head with at least 2 other knives in this category. The Ka-Bar BK 7 and the large Joker Nomad. Both of these cost over £150. The Kizer is only £66. That is unbeatable value in my opinion. The only thing I would change is purely down to personal preference and that is I'd give this awesome Kizer a leather sheath. The kydex one supplied has no faults and a top quality sheath. I just prefer leather sheaths. I don't know how many Heinnie's got in initially but as soon as they're back in stock I'd definitely recommend getting one if you like wilderness camping and the outdoors. Yeah, they sold out within a week of becoming available so keep an eye on when they're back in stock if yo do want one ! ! !

Can't fault this at the price, how Kabar can price the 'Slabby' like they do is a mystery, when Kizer can produce this for not much over a quarter of the price. And include 2 belt clip options.
